I was flipping through a nine year old dupont registry while getting an oil change the other day and saw a red and gold Miura S for $96,000. Have Miura prices really gone up that much since the late 90s or was that likely a car needing a big restoration job?
We are looking for a Miura to be the poster car at the Festivals of Speed in St Peteresburg, FL march 29th. Anyone who has a contact for a Miura, please call Joe Sabatini at 352-385-9450 or [email protected] www.festivalsofspeed.com
Joe, I'm glad your book is about to be printed. I'll be buying one for sure! Hope there are some good Verde Miura pictures to drool over, as well as the one painted Verde Ithaca! (I believe you said there was one about 40 pages back on this topic). How about a three page centerfold on this car? I tend to agree that the cover is a bit bland. I don't like it being Ferrari colored specifically. Without a more iconic Countach or Diablo with scissor doors on the cover, the common book goer is sure to think the Miura is a Ferrari at first glance! I'd go with orange, yellow, or of course, lime green myself! If you'd be interested/willing, I'd be happy to design a cover design for the book. That is, afterall my profession (print design). It'd be free of charge so long as I am credited in the book . I already have a very good idea of how it should look! Let me know if you'd like to see my idea, and I'll make a quick sketch of it.
