A friend's friend sent me the attached picture. Suposedly, an Enzo he saw here in Argentina. This is the only pic he has, and he told me that the owner waved at him while he drove away. The background also leaves me to actually believe that it was taken in Argentina. Now, I see this on ExoticSpotter, and I become quite puzzled.

    Which is the truth?

    Cheers,

PS: He sent me the original, full size, picture.

Hi I'm not sure about your original question, but I am suprised he's having someone else pump it. I'm so picky about that, I hate when gas drips onto the paint or the hose touches the car. Is that a law wherever this picture was taken to have your fuel pumped?

I can't recall anyone pumping its own fuel here. Everybody is SO lazy here that they won't even get out of the car. I do that too, I give the car keys to the guy and tell him: "Fill it up with V-Power please. I'll be paying with Visa!" He then fills it up and returns to me with the keys, a pen, and the bill for me to sign. Then I'm off to the street again.

Nevertheless, note that the guy put a piece of cloth below the hose for it not to touch the car and fuel not to drip over the paint.

    Cheers,
    Nicolas Rubio

Nicolas - are you related to Carlo...?

The only Enzo known to be in Argentina - or at least associated with Argentina at some point - is 129761, delivered new through Modena Autosport SA in Buenos Aires to Daniel Sielecki.

Is the car I posted US or Euro Spec? Is there a chance of them being the same car?

I know that Enzo. It is Perez Companc's Enzo. It is US Spec, right?

Yes I am, we know each other because of being two Ferrari enthusiasts.

I've heard several stories regarding that Enzo. I've heard it was the first Enzo to be delivered to an ordinary client, also I've heard that he sold it before the car got to Argentina (and therefore never rode on argentinian soil), I've also heard that the car was here for some time and then it was sold to a customer out of the country, etc. Any info would be appreciated!

Yes, what's the problem with that?

I doubt it, he would have some bodyguards around him. Usually either on BMW bikes or Subarus STIs.

I have some pictures of other of his cars.

God knows. I'd have died to be him!

    Cheers,
    Nicolas Rubio

First off, why is the car talking on his cell phone in the gas station.

Second, Why is that dirty towel laying on the car. I know its there to catch any gas that might spill, but I wouldn't want that towel on my car let alone an Enzo.

The guy is talking on his phone for one of many reasons, either he doesnt give a ****, he's allowed, he's telling them to call back or he's just kidding. When people take photos of me in my car, it can be nerve-racking. As for the cloth, its a cloth, who knows.

What gets me are owners that leave their seat covers on, this however may not be the owner of the car.

I just noticed that even the driver seat still has the seat cover on it, how weird is that.

the battery from a cell phone is power enough to cause a spark, and blast a whole gas station.

I thought that only applied when the cell phone user is personally filling up the tank.

Well, according to a friend, Sielecki's car went directly from Maranello to Switzerland. The car went back and forth a couple of times to fix some engine issues. The guy is from Argentina but the car never got here. He had it for a while in Switzerland until he finally decided to sell it about a year ago.

So now you are telling me that it is nor argentinian, nor chilean, but brazilian? God I am puzzled!

    Cheers,
    Nicolas Rubio

    Wireless Phones at Gas Stations

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has been alerted to recent reports and rumors that suggest it is dangerous to use a wireless phone while filling your vehicle with gas or in the presence of flammable materials.

The rumors and reports may be fueled by warnings posted at gas stations or included in wireless phone owners’ manuals suggesting that wireless phones should not be used around fuel vapors.

There is no evidence that these reports are true.

One of the rumors circulating describes incidents where consumers are injured by fires or explosions when they use their cell phones at gas stations. In these stories, a fire was reportedly ignited or an explosion occurred when an individual answered a ringing cell phone. Supposedly, an electrical spark from the phone ignited a fire or caused an explosion.

The wireless industry has done studies on the potential for wireless phones to create sparks that could possibly ignite flammable materials. The studies generally conclude that while it may be theoretically possible for a spark from a cell phone battery to ignite gas vapor under very precise conditions, there is no documented incident where the use of a wireless phone was found to cause a fire or explosion at a gas station.

While any potential threat by wireless devices is very remote, there are potential ignition sources at gas stations like automobiles and static electricity. The wireless industry suggests wireless phone users should always consult their owner’s manuals for information on the use of the phone and should follow all posted instructions at gas stations.

Scientific testing, however, has not established a dangerous link between wireless phones and fuel vapors. Wireless phone manufacturers and fuel companies have issued these warnings as a precaution. If you have questions about your wireless phone, contact your wireless phone company.
