Emilio, no, I never owned any other Countach. I bought the LP 400 in bad mechanical condition in Belgium in 1997, restored the mechanics (the rest was in perfect condition!) and did many many km`s in it until 2001 when Volkswagen was constantly chasing me to sell them the car what I finally did. Its now in their museum in Wolfsburg/Germany and was driven also by some celebreties over the last years in events like "Ennstal Classic" etc.!

Policy of the museum is, that ALL their employes can drive any car once a year. The curator of the museum told me last year that since the purchase there is a long waiting list only for that car. So the car gets that what an LP 400 needs most - regular usage!

    But....I miss it (sniff...!)!

    Ciao!
    Walter

Yes, this was the recent auto show we had here in Toronto. This years spectacle was the Lambo Theatre presented by our great friend Mike Ragin_Bull and staff at Lambo of Toronto. I was there and it was amazing. It was also great pleasure meeting Mike for the first time although it was a rushed visit.

To this day this is the only LP400 I have seen ever in person unfortunatly (But not complaining). It used to have the special driving controls from a previous owner. We've spoken about this car here Joe :D

    it is very sad :(

i offer myself to keep it in regular use alternating it with his younger sister on twisty italian roads in sunny sunday mornings (c'mon the owner could not refuse this joy to his car ;) )

Make no mistake, its one of the nicest LP400 I have ever seen (in images) though, but it would look even better in pics of it on the road!

Yes, very rare, and very ugly.
In my opinion, it breaks down the shaping lines of the car.
Not the wing itself, but the standards on wing the wing is mounted.
I don't know what to call that in English.

Here's another picture of the car.
The car had about the coolest license plate holder that I have ever seen:
"Ferruccio Lamborghini s.p.a. - 40019 S. Agatha Bolognese" very nice!
Better then your local Audi dealer anyway ;-)

Although the plate itself looks German to me.

    Ciao!

The 400s with that roof type is very confusing. I don't want to resurrect a difficult topic but could not these 400S be in fact the "unfamous", never seen additional 7 LP400 chassis beyond the magic 151 count?

It would now make sense why you keep saying there are 7 additional 400 cars and why no one can come up with any info about them as being LP400. These cars may be the 400 chassis stamped under 400s serials. If we can find 7 of them, then everything gets explained. Otherwise how can one explain a periscopa 400s? This whole question I am raising above should have some verifiable answers via Bob Wallace or someoone from this era.

Of course I know the Owner, when we last talked he still had the car and had no intention to sell, he owns also a Silhouette.

BTW it was a swiss car...

interesting opinion, but are we sure the periscope S cars are 7? i have heard from 2 to 7 cars

sources with 400 & 400S production datas told me they are S cars built since the beginning as S with periscope roof and not renumbered 400

the reason for the periscope S cars should be in the financial problems of lamborghini those years...

i have seen only one 400 with periscope but had a LP400 VIN

the WOLF side mounts are not ugly IMO
i personally like them : it could very likely be because of the Wolf cars fascination :) i find this wing the more appealing of them all

the really ugly countach wing is the last QV/anni model small and plain with thin hi mounts...it really is sad IMO :(
