I gotta admit that I'm disappointed in you Dallas guys.

Ask anybody and they will tell you that I am always a no show at the Houston FCA social events. Frankly, I don't care much for the "let's get rip roaring drunk" crowd. I did that stuff a long time ago. I don't see any reason to go back there anymore.

However, I do like the regional meets. I like meeting Ferrari nuts from around the state. Hell, even when the meet was in my back yard, I paid my dues.

So come on. Butch up. It is only freaken money. Who knows, you might never come this way again.

I'll be out there for the Concorso, I'm not sure how much the spectator fee will be but bring a bunch of one dollar bills (or can we use the $1 coins) to vote with.

On Sunday morning the public can come to the Four Season’s Resort where the 40 Ferrari’s will be showcased. In front of each car will sit a piggy bank, where Peterson said people can vote for the car of their choice with dollars.

To add to the monetary donations, Peterson said a generous member from Florida donated 27 tricycles. On Wednesday, Peterson along with CITY House staff and volunteers worked diligently to put a dozen of the trikes together.

A portion of the money raised will also fund a special place for the children to ride.

What a nasty thing to classify FCA-HC as a "let's get rip roaring drunk" crowd. This year alone - You didn't attend my breakfast - no one was drunk there (in fact barely any champagne was drunk at all). The Alverez's Brunch - no one drunk there. And the track event last week -what do you think ... I believe it has been at the Regional Meets that the most drinking has been done ... with a few, all in fun, late at night. Get a life!

Did you even come to the last Regional Meet In South Shore? I don't recall you lifting a finger helping, donating or anything else, after all I was the Chair Person, I would know. I guess your refering to 'paying your dues' to your FCA Annual Dues - you and all 140+ HC Members too... So many of our members have come through sponsoring events through the years. Thanks so much to all of you for your time and effort, you are cherished. How about you Dale? Your contributions? Just curious since I'm involved in most of the events.

DIANE I wish you the best of luck! Have fun! I wish I could be there ... I'm sure I'll hear all about it when the HC Gang comes back. Remember you're always welcome at our events.

You know what, Patsy? You're absolutely correct. It is foolish of me to spend over $1,000 on this event just to run my car on a glorified go kart course.

The only reason that I signed up in the first place is that I enjoy meeting people from other parts of the region. I made a lot of great friends at the San Antonio and Houston events and was looking forward to doing the same here. So when I discovered that the Dallas people are boycotting this event, I was very disappointed. This is why I made my post in the first place. I was hoping to jar some of them into coming, but it doesn't look like this is going to happen.

Diane, you don't know me, and I apologize for raining (or snowing?) on this parade. I know that you have worked long and hard on this event. Thus, I hate to see you caught in the crossfire.

You are misinformed. There is no boycott, and there are Dallas/Fort Worth-based members attending the event.

 

Wouldn't be the first time. Probably will not be the last.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm certainly not boycotting anything. I'm not attending because of other commitments. Nothing else. I have every intention of going to see the cars Sunday morning, and hopefully I'll drive mine over there. If both my kids want to come, that will make it a little difficult.

 

This is why I told you to look into that Mondial Cab, Jim...

 

I come here to bury Dr. Who, not to defend him. I changed a word, so it's not plagerism.

1blond, I think you don't know Dr. Who well enough to understand his sense of humor. He doesn't have a mean bone in his rather large body and did not mean his comment as it sounded. Yes, I am one of his business partnersh and have attended several driving schools with him, so I have a fair understanding of his "Bob Newhart swallowed by Rush Limbaugh" humor. You have to understand that the good Dr.'s mom is a "Yellow Dog Democrat" and the Doc has become what most hippies have evolved into, a Republican, which could account for some of his lack of sensitivity.

Yes, he does have a reputation of paying for events and not attending, but that is his way of supporting events. All, the while actually being anti-social. Again, I blame this tendency on his over education. You see a long time ago he use to work for the Feds in downtown Houston. Well, rather than face the traffic driving to South Dallas, commonly called The Woodlands, he went to college. 1st a Masters then the dreaded Doc. program. I for one believe that he would have been better off going to happy hour.

So, what this long winded dialogue is all about, is that you have to forgive him his lack of social skills. He just wasn't brought up to have no manners, never!

PS. I've seen him snockered more than a time or two.
