Hi, I need some help if anyone can chime in with a good lawyer that can get Reckless Driving and major speeding tickets reduced. I am driving down to Orlando in a few days and would like to keep a list in my back pocket with a couple of good lawyers should I need them. Reasonably priced would be great also...like under 250 dollars for the lawyer fee. I heard in North and South Carolina that lawyers dont charge that much like they do up in PA? Up here I have to pay $500-$600 for my lawyer to get me out of a big ticket. We are gonna be travelling at night for the most part, way over 100 mph most likely as long as nobody is around...so i definately need preparation. Thanks!
Steve, I don't think we can be of much help in this matter. I mean to say, announcing that you are going to be purposely violating the law by over 30 mph, at night, consistently through the state, is not going to get you very far on this site. In fact, I will tell you right now that is an amazingly stupid thing to do.
You may have the mistaken impression NC is inexpensive. A lawyer is a snake in any state. Over the years I have paid anywhere from $160-300 for a simple 10 over to $1500 for a DUI. So severity matters. By the way, none were for me....wife and son. Did you know that if an under age minor blows an .02 he gets a DUI?
This has got to be the most idiotic thing I've ever read! Do me a favor... stay as far away from Charlotte and surrounding areas as possible. My wife and I might be on the roads. I know you are 19 and invincible. We are in our 30's, and traffic accidents do more damage at our age.
I suggest you call the following number and inform them of your plans: (919) 733-7952 Be sure to tell them your plate # and state of registration. They'll see to it you get the welcome you deserve. Good luck!
as i said earlier, fast driving will be done late at night while you guys are sleeping. lol. when traffic hits i will just be doing 80-85 at the most. as i said before, i dont care if i hit a deer. im willing to risk my life and its only me that is going. Well i am leaving tomorrow night at 8pm so i will let you know how i make out. just like the last 3 times -- im sure ill be fine. so if you see a black GTO that sounds like it has a ProCharger on it flying down the road make sure you beep at me!
Ok...this should be interesting. Can't say that I have ever been asked to provide a lawyer prior to one's violation????
Wow, that's too bad. Must not have much to live for. Well, I am sure the time you save on your trip will be worth it.
BTW, "we" is typically interpreted to mean someone else is in the car with you (and beholden to your judgment). Unless you've named your car.
Honestly what would a good lawyer list do? If you need a lawyer you are already screwed. It isn't like you can tell the cop and then go on your merry way.
I doubt you'll make it through Virginia!! 25 and over is reckless in that state (even if done at night time or early morning). So, if you're gonna haul a55 thru VA, the cops there will catch ya, and throw you right in the slammer. Oh yeah, radar detectors are illegal in that state too and the cops love to write that ticket up cause it means an extra $100 fine!! They can also confiscate and/or smash your detector on site. Good luck !! Oh, and bring your laptop so you can post up where you got pinched along the way. Then your fellow F-Chatters will rip you a new one for your irresponsible actions, but they will also give you some names and #'s of attorneys to call .
Three of us from Charlotte are headed down to Amelia Island as well. Thank God we're going to be leaving ahead of this nut job coming from PA.
Night is much more dangerous to drive at higher speeds, you are safer in daylight, even with traffic. If its October/November the deer at night are nuts, and I'm near 35MPH regardless of the posted speed limit that time of year. Theres a LOT of wildlife running around at night, and unlike traffic, they won't yield to a 100MPH car, let alone even see it coming. Better to have your fun in the daytime, preferably a fenced area.
Come join us at VIR end of this month and you can show us what that GTO can do(in a save invironment) Karl
made it just fine only got 1 ticket for 95 in a 65 maryland out of all places. thanks for your excellent help guys. lol
