Lusso nose, hot rod custom from the nose back; drivetrain from a crashed Ferrari 360.... they called it a "Ferrambo" ... kinda reminds me of what a 250 Lusso Nomad could've looked like ;)

Ferrambo wins the 2008 Ridler Award
    FERRAMBO WINS RIDLER AWARD

At the 2008 Detroit Autorama, Mike Warn’s Ferrambo won the coveted Ridler Award, hot rodding’s top indoor show prize.

Constructed by Tim Divers and crew at Divers Street Rods in Startup, Washington, Ferrambo is a 1960 Rambler station wagon with a complete 2002 Ferrari drivetrain wedged into the rear seat and cargo area. Front and rear suspension are also adapted from a Ferrari F360, while the carbon-composite brakes and centerlock wheels are handmade pieces.

Ferrambo topped a tough field of “Great 8” finalists at Cobo Hall this year, which included two more station wagons, surprisingly: J.F. Launier’s ’55 Chrysler and the ’56 Chevy of Gordon Peters. This could be a trend: It appears that competition for the Ridler Award is opening up again after several years of domination by the traditional Ford-based rods. Warn’s Rambler/Ferrari takes the “Dare to be Different” concept to another level. Look for our full feature on Ferrambo in the July issue of HOT ROD.
