isnt it sopose to be 2011
Well, no. If it debuts in calendar year 2009 its first model year will unquestionably be 2010. Since it came out in 2005, that gives it a five year model run.
I guess I can deal with 2010 but 2011 is too far away. I'd like 2009, but I guess 2010 is cool. Just surprised that people seem utterly clueless about this car.
I guess 5 years isn't too short. Still pretty crazy. Are we even sure that its successor isn't the "Dino"? Peter Hatch
5 year run. V8s have 5 year run. supercars have 7 year run. this leads us to obvious conclusions - both will be seen in 2009
In an effort to fight global warming F has decided on a radical new course for the F70 Here are some spy shots Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I know something about it. It will be called the F70 b/c apparently, every super Ferrari is an anniversary car regardless of the year.
Haha. ^ I'm just glad that the majority of people here have finally figured it out that the Enzo is called the ENZO and not F60. Peter Hatch
I think that it will be announced in 2009, and that it will still be a V12............. Here we go again.........
Since production of the 308 ended, Ferrari seems to have developed a pattern for replacement of the mid-engined V8s: 1985-1989 [5 years]: 328 1989-1994 [6 years]: 348 1995-1999 [5 years]: 355 1999-2004 [6 years]: 360 2005-_: 430 The pattern suggests that the 'original car' (348, 360) has a six-year span while the 'successor car' (328, 355) has a five-year span. Of course, this would include the F430 which is a successor to the 360. This pattern also suggests that every year ending in five and nine we get a new Ferrari. They probably won't have an F430 successor ready for 2009, though, but the F430 itself may see that as its last model year anyway.
rumored 2010..2000-2200lbs rumored twin turbo v8,or high revving quad-cam smaller displacement v12,wheelbase shortenend a quarter, dimension similar to "FXX Millechili""concept .900-1000+hp to the wheels(rumored).I cant wait, and it's a topic that i speak often about with friends. No one has a clue that an Enzo succesor is bieng schemed up.Ferrari had the six year reign in the Constructor World Championship with those amazing V10s.Yet the V10 era is over, and i believe since the Enzo was to celebrate there dominance in F1 early during that period, that was there best shot of doing that in making the Enzo V10......If they are going to follow F1 cylinder count,I picture a high-revving N/A 4.5-5.5 liter motor. All i kno is im anxious!!!!
A V12 would be kind of sad IMO. I was hoping for a twin turbo V8, 1,000 kilo, serious electronics and aero... The F50 and the Enzo are simply too big IMO. Please tell us more RTB as there is no doubt that you are one of the maybe 5 people at most on Fchat who really do have some insight
I don't have any special "inside information", but it makes sense to me for the next supercar to use an engine very similar to the FXX (6.0 V12 800+bhp), especially as all the FXX Evo customers have had their old engines removed and dismantled for inspection........ However, I would be delighted to be proved wrong!
IMO it won't be 09 nor will be a 12. Ferrari will take a while to digest 4K aditional "California" production.
Simply a guess but I have heard that they are still abit away and exploring various ideas. I think it will have to be TT to meet emission requirements. Building an E 85 430 is a possible clue. The new Saleen Supercar will be E 85.
Jim, from everything I read in Forza, R&T (Peter Egan), and EVO, it seems like the car is reverting back to a smaller supercar with V8TT's and will not be around until 2011-2012ish.
