Joe: Are you/the publisher still thinking of having books numbered to match the cars? If so, are you going to control the distribution/sale of these numbered volumes so the owner of the vehicle is able to purchase the matching numbered book? Alberto
There might be a seperate de-luxe leather bound limited edition that will be numbered, but not immediately. This might be a numbered edition, for car owners (1-762), and enthusiasts (762 - 1000), for example. We shall see, as they say... Joe www.joesackey.com
Joe, as a professional Art Director I agree! The cover is too much red! It has to become much more typicall Miura! There is only one true style to cover a book like yours! If you want to know, please contact me offline and I show you why....! Ciao! Walter
Joe, I hope I will be more lucky to have an answer from you overhere... Can you have a look in your files and to come back to me regarding the Miura P400 (not the S & SV) delivered new in Belgium by S.O.C.A.R.I.A. Here are the VIN that I know so far : # 3015 # 3105 # 3147 # 3285 # 3363 If you know more cars, can you share these VIN ? It will be great to have also original spec : external color/interior + engine N°. I know some lists provide such details...like the one I have for the Jarama. Now, I believe I need to feed your curiosity a little bit...I've a very nice story about a belgian Miura P400 untill it left Belgium to Italy where it still resides by now (I hope). But as I always want to be as much accurate as possible, I don't want to publish that story on VLG or FerrariChat before I got the VIN. Same as I did with publication of Le Mans 1975 Islero story. Awaiting to discover your "help". Kindest regards, Olivier LCB www.lamborghiniclubbelgium.com www.jaramaregistry.com
Yes, it's related to the same old story regarding other member(s) here. I wish it would all stop really.
Olivier, Welcome! Post some pics of the Belgium Miuras and I will dig up what have in my records for them. Joe www.joesackey.com
Our Miura SV has just been officially accepted at Quail for the Lamborghni Class in tribute to Valentino Balboni as he leaves Lamborghini and retires at last. I will be an awesome event that truly marks the end of an era. Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was a great example of a Miura SV at Amelia island yesterday. I was disappointed with the exterior color however. It was very dark blue, so dark in fact, that it appeared to be black even in direct sunlight. Is that a Lambo color? The interior on this example was phenominal. White and absolutely perfect. Now he's retiring? I keep reading about his retirement, but 2 people have confirmed already after speaking to him that he's only celebrating his 40th anniversary with Lamborghini and has no intentions of retiring.
Sheesh. I guess those 2 people know more than everbody else, including Valentino! They must be his official publicists OK, lets focus on the fact that he will be honored for 40 years with Lamborghini at Quail... There is also an exclusive event to privately honor him in California prior to that (NOT organized by me, Ive nothing to do with it, although Ill be there). Joe www.joesackey.com
You're talking about the party that VRAlex is putting together? Those 2 people are both on LP. One of them is from Lamborghini Troy I think and spoke to Valentino couple of days ago on the phone and Valentino denied the retirement news. 2nd person is Sameer on LP also. Here's a copy paste of the email Valentino sent him also a couple of days ago.
Belongs to my client and I sold it to him 5 months ago. Great car, late SV, split sump, factory AC, stored in Connecticut. Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
As I said, lets focus on his 40 years... he will be honored at Quail in an event specially dedicated to his 40 years at Lamborghini with a class of one of each of his favorite Lamborghinis. Should be memorable, he deserves it. Joe www.joesackey.com
The car's owner is indeed Adam Gordon, owner of the one-off Lamborghini Bertone Miura Roadster... Joe www.joesackey.com
http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=HchQQP6V_TI What an awesome find! I've catched up and read all . . . Phew. I think Balboni dies in a Lambo, I just can't think of anything else. He will stay and testdrive those stunners untill the end of day. Up there in heaven he will drive all the lost Lambo's . . . ... I always thought as a car the Countach was quite a 'different' car / statement compared to the elegant and sexy - almost - feminine - Miura. How come Lamborghini had such a different approach to their modelrange?
Ive posted this already on this thread, BUT, thanks for posting it again. It really is a gem that reveals the chic style of the swinging sixties era in which the car was conceived... Joe www.joesackey.com
