    Friday Practice 1 has started. See it on live timing.

    For reference, 2007 FP1 top time was 1'29.204" posted by Alonso.

    Currently all the drivers seem to being doing a shakedown lap only.

    First flying lap recorded 1'35.239" - 6 secs off 2007 pace. Yes it is hotter this year, but I am expecting the session end times will be closer - low 1'30s perhaps.

    best time drops to 1'33.9" - all done by Bourdais.

    Williams and Ferrari are the only two teams who haven't gone out at all today.

    Both STRs are running neck and neck with Bourdais slightly ahead.

    Kovaleinen is quicker than Hamilton so far!!!! He is about .4 behind Massa and 0.22 behind kimi
