Both are similar in price. Both 6-speed manuals. 911 Turbo has the preowned warranty from the factory when the 1st round of warranty expires.... so essetially both have tons of factory warranty. Both can be daily drivers.

    Which would you choose?

    Thanks for any input.

While I think the M6 is good looking in an unusual sort of way...from certain angles...in the right lighting...but I digress.

If you intend to daily drive it I would think that the AWD of the 911 would be an asset.

Not sure you can go wrong either way though.

Depends on your need, I have a supercharged (540hp) 06 997S C2 cab (awd is not for sports cars), and a (close to 600hp) M6 coupe. M6 has a big trunk every tech option there is, and in the EDC is set on comfort rides very nice. It is a GT car, not a sports car, though it can be made to handle pretty well. I owned a 996tt, had the front drive removed, though the 996 were my least favorite 911 versions, vague handling, poor feedback.

Thanks for the input guys. AWD is not much of an issue since I live in FL.
    Still, its a tough decision!

I just got finished conversing with my wife that the Porsche is Fugly. It's all those vents, spoilers, whatever. Even in a real clean coupe she was never a drop dead gorgeous thing.

I'm thinking in the future it will look like a big wing roadrunner. Just stuff going on everywhere.

Sorry if it kills the mojo. There have been times when I thought I could go for it.

I'd do the M6. Too bad about backing it into the guardrail though.

These cars just are not super attractive.

If that was my only 2 choices I might just slam my nut sack in the door an call it a day...

If you EVER neede the back seat you have to go for the M6...

    Nice car!

I'd go with the M6 too, but I don't like Porsches so....

I love the look of the first 6 series. I forget the model number. However, I think the M6 is hideous.

    Different strokes.
I think the M6 looks better but would choose the Porsche.

Any recommendations for a convertible in the same price range ($100K)?

Must have factory warranty, must be a manual (aston, benz are out), must be a convertible, and must be able to drive it daily. Back seats are not a requirement.

I was thinking its hard to find a better all around car than a 911 Turbo Convertible for that price.....

Side view is the best shot of the car, no doubt. I think it is mostly the front and to a lesser extent the back that are the let downs for almost all of the current crop of BMW's.

    YMMV.

Porsche for sure - for me. But I happen to really like Porsche's. I like the M6's looks from every angle - except the rear. The 911 is a classic looker. Still great after all these years. I think the BMW will be more of a GT, more comfortable, quieter but with lots of grunt, all the technology etc. The Porsche will be the opposite - much closer to a sports car. The GPS sucks, its noisy, bouncy etc. But thats whats appealing to me. The S has the X-50 option so it will be very quick. The Porsche will out handle the M6 - no comparison. Much lighter and direct handling, darty.
