http://technabob.com/blog/2008/03/13/lifetime-clock-slows-time-to-a-crawl/ This clock really puts our life into prospective.
That sucks, about less than 1/4th of the clock is useless, Maybe if you are about to have a child its worth it. Otherwise, sucks to see if your 77+
That clock would be even more depressing in subjective time. A year feels like eternity when you're 10 and feels like a few months when you're 50. So 3 o'clock should be 15 years, not 21; 6 o'clock should be 25 years, not 42; 9 o'clock should be 35 years, not 63; etc, so that the last 1/4 of your life can be crammed in from 11 o'clock to midnight.
This is a great illustration of what I realized years ago when we decided to have kids. There are many items to check off on each of our lifelong to-do lists. Many of them are best enjoyed when you are young and in good health. This is a great way to put into perspective the proportion of our lives that is spent working hard, saving our pennies, and occasionally denying ourselves of luxuries just so we can retire comfortably at “65” to enjoy the fruits of our labor. However, when you get to that point, it’s already too late. The quality years have been spent.
Sad but true for most. Many guys spend most of their lives acquiring the wealth that ultimately will be enjoyed by others. But if your kids turn out to be successful then every minute of it was worthwhile.
