Greeting to everyone! i made an earlier post on the 308/mondial section regarding an 81-82 mondial. I bought this car back in 2001 and wasn't able to get the service history as promised and i was wondering if anyone out there new something about the history of this car? I believe it was brought in from Hong Kong and much work was done on it after its arrival. The chassis no. is ZFFHD08C000039187 and engine no. is F106B00915. We plan to continue working on this car untill fully restored and would love to hear from anyone that may know something of its history! thanks for reading this regards from chris davies

I'm sorry Chris, I have to break the news to you that Mondials are at the unloved end of the 3x8 Ferrari spectrum.

If you tell us what state you're in, people will be able to point you to the usual suspects who work on these cars, which is where I'd start trying to track down the service history.

Must have been a broker !

In Melbourne, John Allan and Black Stallion Motors http://www.blackstallionmotors.com.au/ would be the place to start. The dealer used to be Lance Dixon, but they are no longer the Ferrari agent, and I have heard that their staff have since moved around, so that avenue may be more difficult.
Melbourne F Chatters may be able to help ?

Perhaps there is no service history? and the guy did all the work himself? It does happen.

I'd assume that youv'e done a service since you've bought it -ie: changed all fluids and the cam belts, so there's not much else to learn from the service history.

    Hello Andrew, Asif here.
Remarkable memory. The car looks beautiful still. I loved it while I had it.
You helped me upgrade it with colour coded bumpers and mirrors.

    take care.

    Dear Chris,

I am Asif Moyeen, the owner of your Mondial. The cars pic still looks beautiful. Italian Motors Hong Kong sold the car to me courtesy Mr Andrew Turner Sales Director.

We had the car upgraded with color coded bumpers and mirrors. The front number plates were removed from the bumper and placed at the lower bib. The number plate area was replaced with a prancing horse.

The car was not very fast but was a delight to drive. In fact I enjoyed driving it more than the 308 QV i owned concurrently.

I was living in Shenzhen and Guangzhou during the mid 80's and remember the car being parked for weeks together at the mid level flat in Hong Kong of one of my banker colleagues. The car was sold by me sometime in 1990 again through Andrew and Ian Geekie of Italian Motors Hong Kong.

I still have some pics of the car from 1986 or so. I will post them once am back home from my overseas trip.

    Dear Asif Moyeen

Its great to get in contact with you! Thanks so much for the reply!
I would be delighted to see some original pictures of the car. Its an absolute pleasure to look after and a thrill to drive. there arent many mondials here, so its a real showstopper!
If you come to Australia, please dont hesitate to look me up ! there are some great driving roads here where we live near the great ocean road! in Victoria.

    Kindest Regards
