The punch list is getting pretty short. Today we did about 5 test drives. We would bring it in, put it back on the lift and check for any leaks. I think we have no more leaks, and everything works. 99% done. The seat inserts and carpet are in customs in the US so I should have soon. I felt so confident I actually drove it home today. Tomorrow it's going to Chris at Cavallo in Carlsbad for alignment.

I guess the suspension all settled down now and the ride height and all is in "like new" Condition?

The car looks GREAT, color, headlights, everything, can't wait to see the seats installed, Just think if they sent the right ones the first time you would be all done and looking to do something else right about now...

Well anyway it was a good time watching this thread for the past months and I hope you do another soon...

It's still rides 1" higher than the black coupe. It has 70,000 miles on it so maybe combination of that being low from age and this being high due to new parts. It's only been driven now 30 miles, so maybe some more miles will help. I'll have a few more pictures when the interior is finally done and then will get to work on the DVD.

where did you source your springs?

The first set I bought (Superformance I think) were wrong and the car sat too high in the front. I had to replace them with springs from Dennis McCann. Different spring rates from original, as I recall, was at least a part of the problem. Superformance sold them as uprated, but mostly they were uplifting. only product I ever had a problem with from them, and they refunded 100% of my cost, including the labor.

Jon now you have nearly finished, you need a nice holiday.

How about a nice trip to the UK.

Can supply bed and breakfast, weather is a bit rough at the moment
oh by the way, can you bring some of your tools with you.

Only joking if ever you come over, let me know it will be my pleasure to
make sure you have a nice time.

Without your pictures it would of been a bit of a nighmare, not too far behind you on finishing the car,
mine will be ready for our 6 week summer.

    Jon,

    Car looks great.

I'm sure you know this but the passenger seat should be in the car when aligned.

Also point of interest, the Campy wheels have different wheel bolts than the Cromodora's. I researched this with a guy in Scotland years ago. The seating edge has a different angle.

And also with driver sitting in the car ... but who does that?

As Dinos have adjustable spring platforms (I believe), I would also get the car corner weighed ... then it will drive beautifully balanced.

Hi Jon and Jeff, I'm Jim, the guy Rob G. walked in with a few days ago, we talked motocross, remember? Well I took your advice and spent some time here in this site, I have to say I am as impressed with what you have provided here for Dino lovers everywhere as I was upon my first glance at your car and shop. Let me tell these many other readers...that little car is so special words don't do it justice! And this guy Jon and his son Jeff are really neat guys, what a pleasure to meet them!

I'm going to pop in once in a while just to see all the fun stuff if you don't mind. Great job, see you soon. I hope my little intrusion isn't considered hijacking a thread, I just had to do it.

We've started looking into making a DVD with all the pictures. We're thinking right now to just set up a website with all the pictures. We reserved the name www.dinorestoration.com. Son Jeff can make the website. Opinions and advice are welcome.

ADVICE needed. How would you guys like to see the web site set up so you can find the picture needed. There are about 1500 photos. I was thinking of grouping photos that would reference each TAV in the parts book with a scan of the part page and photos that apply. Then other sections for body work, paint, engine installation etc. All your comments would be appreciated so we can get started. I'm going to use full size photos on everything except the beginning as I didn't know what I was doing then and resized them all not realizing I should keep the full size. But photos from Dino coupe (next project) will be much better. Is there anything else you would like to see besides photos and part pages??

Side by side before an after pictures might be helpful and illustrative for people. I would not do that for all of your 1500 pictures, but a good sampling assuming you have the equivalent before picture.

+1!!! I really like this idea of seeing the before and after. I think it would add an amazing amount of depth, especially for someone who has not completely devoured this restoration thread like most of us have.

    Jon,
Need an index of some sort. Probably more than one. Alphabetical by part name. By major assembly. By TAV. By removal sequence. By repair sequence. By assembly sequence. Then number each picture, on the picture itself, starting at 0001jg (you taking the plate off).
Those first pictures can be sharpened and blown up a little, I have used a few in my Sagas. Don't think that full size photos make sense if you are talking about camera resolution. Maybe 1600 x 1200 pixels, sharpened, would be a reasonable compromise between size and navigability for folks who don't have editors. Of course you could have pan and zoom and sharpen as part of the web site and let folks have it all. Users could select size to download if they need hard copy. So many ideas about such a resource. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

    Jon,

Maybe a link to where you sourced parts and services would be nice as well.

Congratulations and thanks for taking us along for the ride. I hope to be able to see the finished masterpiece in person some day.

Will be getting the dino back tomorrow from alignment. Found out it has a faulty brake booster so will be putting another one in. Putting in the rear batch board and the license plate light switch and some other items on our punch list. My son Jeff decided he wasn't prepared enough to leave yet so he's still been around helping me finish the car. He is doing the website. He's got a few things on the site already. The seat inserts are in customs on the east coast, hopefully they will be here soon! Check out the site, let us know how it looks so far.
