Intersting article, which clearly points out it was Mosley and Eccelstone that changed it to begin with when MS was dominating. It should be 10 points for a win and 1 point for a second place that Eccelstone was proposing in the late 80's. Lets see what happens. Thanks for the article.
Agreed, a move towards more RACING is a good thing. This is one of those adjustments that should be made. Winners get rewarded. RACE to win
Hey Tony, I don't know this plan you mentioned. So only two points positions, first and second? Wouldn't that take away the incentive for midfield teams to even participate? I was thinking it should be: 15/10/6/5/4/3/2/1, and some sort of bonus mid season for wins. Someone that never wins should not be allowed to claim the WDC. So an adjustment would take effect, also mid season. Racing used to be so simple.
Sounds like a decent idea, but what happens if a unreliable car wins 6 races and has 12 retirements. Is that better than the driver who has 4 wins and 18 podiums?
