It was a racing incident - get over it DC. Besides you may want to remember the bone headed move you pulled on Wurz in Australia 2007. Stupid ass!

PLEASE don't even suggest that! McNish and Franchitti are gentlemen and fine ambassadors for the ALMS and Scotland. Coulthard tends to be more of an embarrassment for everyone concerned when he opens that big mouth of his. Also I personally believe Alan McNish is a far better driver than Coulthard has ever been or ever will be. As far as I'm concerned F1 can either keep Coulthard or just kick him out, but please don't saddle the ALMS or LMS with him!

In the vid above he does, and takes full responsibility for it. He says he'd pulled the same kind of move, was at fault and apologized for it. That lead him to day Massa should do the same.

Flavio said that he didn´t want one year deals and he has spent a lot of money in Alonso, so I suppose that´s not possible.

    But maybe in 2011.

I have to say having watched the youtube clip I did enjoy how calm DC was before dropping his quote... the best thing since Kimi's quote about missing a presentation from Pele: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HHUkHbgAtM

Unrelated to the incident with DC, Massa is annoying. I saw this year is his last year at Ferrari....and he's lucky to have given the tenure he's deserved thus far.

+1 Realise that Ferrari took him on based on the potential he seemed to have...they mistook his tenacity for talent. The fellow can will himself to do well....it is the off-the-cuff moments he does not know how to respond to. Such as overtaking. What a concept.

If anyone read Windsor's article on Hamilton ( I don't want to over-romanticize him), but he said that the thing that makes him so good at passing is that he is very sensitive to other people's emotions and temperaments. He knows how to read people pretty well...and you have to in order to be successful. Even I can tell you that you do not overtake Coulthard in the same way as you would Barrichello. Coulthard is VERY WELL KNOWN to make himself wider when being overtaken....so why the hell would Massa approach him like that??!! Its very annoying to watch. Try and overtake Button and he will fight for his position, but in a very fair manner...never a wheel wrong. If you see Sato trying to pass you, let him do it because if you don't he'll probably end your race. Never dice with Hamilton. Ever. You gotta know your competition Massa!

I like Hamilton but sorry, Windsor's a tool and seems to just pull things out of his bum. It was his "Massapeal" article last year that gave the Massa fan boys a lot of fuel for many, many postings here. But, I do agree with you that you approach overtaking a driver based upon your own knowledge of how they're going to react to you making the move.

That's what you think. Some people happen to dislike your choices and like Massa.
    It's that simple.

The dif is most Massa supporters don't go around name calling Kimi and his supporters juvenile refuse
and/or blame Kimi for Massa's performance.

Your constant bashing of Massa is beyond absurd.

+1 Brian. Seems to be an etiquette procedure imho.

I've noticed if the lead driver of what's known to all as a non-competitive car (ie Honda/Red Bull) is allowed by the driver of the obviously faster vehicle (ie Ferrari) to stay in front for a few laps and show his own team he put up a fight, he returns the favour by giving room for the pass at the obvious place, as a sign of return respect. If the procedure is rushed, you get Massa and Coulthard.

Pretty funny; you can bash Massa all you want. But it's pretty damn ironic that Coulthard says his mirrors suck right after this incident as well................
Also - Massa's pass looks exactly like Villenueve's dive down the insode of Michael in Jerez 1997. (Which of course he pulled off)

My rear-view mirrors 'suck' says Coulthard
    Posted 17 March 2008 at 08:48 GMT

David Coulthard says recent designs for F1 rear-view mirrors "suck".

The veteran racer was furious with Ferrari's Felipe Massa after their collision at Albert Park on Sunday, answering "of course" when asked if he knew the Brazilian was trying to pass him.

But Coulthard, 37, is now quoted as suggesting that designers of modern F1 cars are not concerned enough about drivers' rearward visibility.

Red Bull's single seaters, penned by Adrian Newey, are among several in the current field on which the mirrors are mounted on the side pods, some distance from the drivers' eyes, because of the aerodynamic benefits.

It is rumoured that Fernando Alonso demanded to Renault technicians that his mirrors be moved closer to the cockpit for 2008.

"The FIA should realise that you can see almost nothing out of these sidepod mirrors," Coulthard is quoted as saying by sportnet.

Villenueves pass only was pulled off BECAUSE MS drove into the side of his car, helping him find a lost apex. If MS had not done that and instead gone wide, JV would have run wide and MS would have repassed him.

Massa's pass was from too far back and again smacked of desperation. Coulthard had the corner and Massa was so far back he did not even bother with a defensive line. Mistake by Massa IMO.

Desperation? Villenueve darted to the inside from a long way back; catching Schumi completely by surprise; his reaction was very similar to Coulthard's; try and close the door; or in Michael's case, take him out. Either way the attempts by Villenueve & Massa were very similar. And I'm not a huge Massa fan, fwiw.....

'''.And before you doubt, it was by sheer LUCK that Stepneygate was discovered and Ferrari was gifted the WCC in light of McLaren's exclusion from WCC points. I don't know what the money spread is between 1st and 2nd, but I'm pretty sure it would buy a lot of guys on the grid who are a LOT better than Massa and more deserving of that 2nd Ferrari race seat....'

This is perhaps one of the most overlooked facts of last year. The fact that Stepneygate was discovered. Let's face it - it wasn't by great investigative work by Ferrari that this was uncovered, it was pure luck that fell in their laps. Kudos to them for pulling off the double - but if this weren't discovered and McLaren rolled to a title last year - our conversations about the beloved Scuderia would be vastly different leading into this year........

Come on - that's a little harsh... plenty of drivers have spun out at the first turn. I mean, let's see... Yoong, Davidson, Nakano, Speed and other paragons of talent in F1. Those guys were in Ferraris too right? right???????

We can only wish. Or, they could buy out Button, Sutil, Kubica, Heidfeld, Webber or any number of other drivers who would be INFINITELY better and more effective than Massa could dream of being.

A submission and plea for mercy?

"Ok, fine, we know he sucks, stop rubbing my face in it".

Why do people take it personally when people talk about which drivers they like or don't like? If I had to pick an F1 driver to date my sister, it would be Massa. He seems to be probably the nicest guy on the grid. As a driver, he sucks, as we have seen numerous times since he started with Ferrari. Without traction control, his serious lack of talent will get more and more apparent, and I (and many others) will be here to complain about it, since our favorite team is being hurt by it.

I'm letting Massas driving do the talking - how come those apologizing for him and defending him can't do the same? Oh, right... because then you'd be on our side :)
