I had a terrible weekend, it started really well, got a little worse on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning was fantastic, great weather, took my 355 out with the roof down and went for a early morning blast, life's good. Then Sunday evening my girl gives me a call to say "its over", worst part is everything was great, she even agrees we were both happy, but its over and she cant give me a reason why.
Any way, enough of the sob story, I have been in the process of getting a new key for my 355, that factory one leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion, it arrived this morning! It is a much needed distraction and will provide something to occupy some new found spare time.

A BIG thank you to Pap for his instrumental role in me getting this key.

(sorry for the crap photo, i figure you all will want pics....)

You have a freaking Ferrari - who needs a girl friend?! I'd park it at the NZ version of Starbucks and just hang out waiting for the phone numbers to collect.

    Cheers and happy hunting, mate!

Thanks guys, I guess its time to start a new chapter for me, one that starts with my new key. Strange though, I’ve broken up with girls many times before, this one knocked me around a bit. Easier from here on though, off to the lock smith soon I think.

Man, that Enzo key looks awesome. I just bought a '95 355 B two weeks ago (rosso barchetta / tan) and love it - but agree that the stock key is pretty bland. Any idea where I could get a key like that and how much it would cost? Many thanks.

I had a bad breakup 2 yrs. ago which prompted me to sell my 328 and buy my 355. In the end it's provided much more happiness and less headaches....except when I blew that coolant hose last year!

Welcome to Ferrarichat Andrew and CONGRATS on the 355!! :):)
Enjoy the 355 in good health mate. :):)

The Wynn Ferarri store in Vegas sells them, but they have none at the moment. They usually sell for US$199 for a 'pre-cut' key that you have to modify to fit your 355. :):)

Here is an Enzo blank key for sale, from an ex-Ferrarichatter. Jimmy540i. ;);)
Got a spare US$575 buring a hole in your back pocket? :p:p

You know what they say, women are like buses - if you stand on the corner long enough, another one will come by.

    Ferrari's aren't like buses.

The key is cut :D The guy at the locksmith was very nervious about cutting the key, he said it was the most expensive key he has ever cut! And he is the largest locksmith and probably most trusted in town. He cut it for FREE!!! What a good man. Things are looking up already. :)

    Hey James,

You hold the "key" to a wealth of friendship that's yours for the asking - from all over the world. But, what about the girl? -------well, she just simply made it easier for you to move on. If it were up to you, would you know what to do? Would you know when the best time would come so you could tell her that it wasn't working and - probably never would?

Get this James - - even if you didn't know there was a problem - she relieved you of any necessity of "weighing the facts". So she says it's over------------OK (of course it hurts), but in the end (butt), you just let go and think about how wonderful your life is and - what is out there awaiting your arrival. Just think, you didn't have to fight endless sleepless nights trying to decide if you should break up with her or not------------------she made it all very easy:)

    You'll be just dandy----

    Hank

Mate it works perfectly, I'm going to take her out for a run shortly, can't wait.....:D

Hay Hank, Thank you for your kind words, you are correct, she has made that decision for me, and perhaps in the future i may have had to make that call myself.
It comes in waves, for a few hours I'm my old happy self, then something reminds me and i get a bit sad, but that is not going to last, i am normally a very happy person, i enjoy jokes and just having fun, the last few days i have had a hard time finding things to joke about, this will get better. I love my life, i love that i have done well for myself, and i love that over the next few months i will meet another special girl to share my time with, how long that chapter lasts is part of the excitement.

In some strange way she has managed to knock me off my happy perch, more than i have ever experienced before, that is mainly due to normally when it ends things have gone bad, not so in this case, we were all good then over, i will find out why, but I'm sure not pushing at that at this stage.

    Anyway, I'm off for a drive......:D

Sorry about the girl. I know it's tough but she actually relieved you of having to deal with years of whining and complaining about "Why you pay more attention to THAT car", and "Your car is more important than me". Along with various and sundry other complaints, rules, etc., which can sometimes be followed by losing 1/2 of all your hard work... I think I would like to send her a Thank You card!

Cheer up. You still have a Ferrari in the Garage! :)
