How much are they and where do I buy them. What advantage or disadvantage do they have in terms of driving dynamics if any?
Has anyone here switched from the regular 430 wheels to the Challenge and if so what's your take on them.
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks!

I have them on my car with the carbon brakes. I doubt the weight reduction makes a bit of difference for the average driver on the street. Maybe Schumacher would benefit but for the street, the main benefit is style. They do look cool without adding gaudy bling that is so popular in some circles.

Best place to purchase them is from our sponsor Daniel at....http://www.ricambiamerica.com/. No advantage or disadvantage with regard to driving dynamics. Unlike the 18" Challenge wheel as equipped on the 360 Challenge race car, the 19" Challenge 'style' wheel is a relatively heavy cast road wheel and very similar in weight to the stock F430 wheel. Ferrari isn't looking for warranty claims as a result of bent wheels. Really all comes down to aesthetics.

I have a set which I am thinking to put on my 430. Do you need the titanium lug nuts or will the standard ones work?

I have a set that i've had finished in Grigio Silverstone along with the Titanium lugs - they are available if wanted. They have 1500 miles on them since new.

I have a set of standard F430 wheels with runflats for long trips and a set of Challenge wheels painted the same color as the front bumper inset (PPG 248514). No noticable performance difference, just love the look. Cheers.

I switched to the challenge wheels on my 430, purely for aesthetic reasons. No performance improvement as they're pretty heavy cast wheels. The Ti lug bolts look pretty cool and probably the right ones to use with these wheels, but again it's primarily the look. Some HRE's or other aftermarket forged wheel would get some unsprung, rotating weight off the car if that's your goal.

Yes. I just sold it however. Apparently the new owner wanted the OEM twin 5 spokes that originally came with the car and I needed a set for the track. As it turns out, I'm happy to have ended up with the CS wheels although I may not need them after all.

These dark wheels look great. What color code is that and how was it achieved.........powder coating or painted then clear coated?

The burnished wheels come direct from the factory. $3K each, plus $2K for the titanium bolts. As Drew pointed out a while ago, you can buy the standard challenge wheels and have them powder coated or painted for less money. I guess it depends on how anal one is about OEM. Hope this helps.

    In front of you
It appears that the F430 wheel arches are larger than the 360 and make the wheel/tires look small ... something that's always bothered me with the overall look of the F430.

If I had an F430 and wanted the Challenge wheel look, I would look into getting a set of the 20" Challenge style that are mounted on the 599's ... now that would look SHARP !!!

Thanks Tony........would you happen to have a part number for the factory burnished challenge wheels? Can the 5-spoke wheels be ordered burnished as well?

Painted Grigio Silverstone - i was told there were about 5 different ppg color shades. My instructions to the painter, "please evaluate darkest = 5 and lightest = 1 and to paint at the wheels at 4". Thereafter the wheels were cleared with a satin clear; not glossy. Everyone has differing personal taste but i really felt they turned out fantastic. In dark light they looked like a carbon grey/black and in the light they looked about 2 shades darker than the OEM grigio silverstone. A salesperson at Ferrari recommended that I give it a shot and it turned out great IMO.

They do look great Chris. I've got the same car, but with 5-spokes and I want the darker wheels. Did you also paint the wheels from the inside (under the tires)? When refitting the tires onto the wheels, are there no problems chipping the paint on the wheel lip?
