Are you Scottish? I mean REAL scottish, as in you were born there?

Scottish people are proud of DC. He's a good driver - not a great (never has been, never will be). He's infinitely better than Massa though, and certainly has achieved much more in his career than Massa ever will.

As for McNish - talk about someone to be embarassed about! He couldn't hang in F1 - thats why he was fired lickety split, because he sucked.

get over it! btw, the bashing is going to get worse....as Massa screws up again and again...

and where were you, when all the supposed Tifosi, the Shumassa heretics, wanted Kimi's head on a stick only several races in last season? Calling him a cancer, he should be fired, and it was all Massa holding Ferrari's head above water.. blah, blah, blah, blah, hmm... wonder where you were... hmm...
Massa supporters don't go around name calling... yeah, sure...

Massa will be "at" Ferrari throughout his contract duration.

But IMO there is little chance he will remain in the car. He will either be sidelined in favor of someone with actual talent, or he will be leased out to another team (a-la Sauber previously).

More likely he would end up at Red Bull or STR. Ironically, I can very likely see a trade to RBR after DC hangs up his hat - and Massa going there to take that spot. He just needs to not be in a Ferrari branded car, because he'll just keep wadding it, underperforming, and screwing the team out of points in general.

it's not that i hate Massa, but my attituded is that a fast car needs a consistently fast driver, someone to get everything possible out of the car, and Massa is heading down the wrong track (for Ferrari, and supporters). i still can't believe what he did at the start of the race... shocking, but not really, as that's the Massa of old. I'm getting the popcorn ready for the onslaught of excuses for Massa the rest of the year.

Windsor is a talking head, and an annoying one at that.

Guys like windsor have to generate lots of copy and try to sell magazines during the off season when nothing is going on. So they come up with mildly controversial topics like "Massapeal". Remember the people on here predicting Massa was going to be the #1? Yeah, how'd that work out for you guys? Massa came 4th out of the top 4 guys, as the rest of us predicted.

All Windsor does it come up with some idea that's a bit out there but not too ridiculous and make a case for it. If he winds up right, he's a super accurate insightful prophet of the real F1. If he's wrong, he just was saying his opinion. Saying Massa may be the guy was a no-brainer... talk about the top team, sure, makes good fodder. Unfortunately Windsor was wrong about Massa, although despite multiple sad performances, lots of guys still don't want to admit it!

DC said in the interview he saw him in the mirror. Then he turned into him. Massa had position. That's what I (and the commentator's) thought seeing it live. Interesting how so many people see the outside car turning into the inside car as the inside cars fault. See pic below and talk 3 colors of ****. By the way OP, DC didn't call massa a piece of ****. but that really doesn't matter does it? I think DC owes ,massa an apology.

After watching the replay and slo-mo a few times, Massa tried to make a pass happen and failed miserably. Massa was off the line by a mile and did not turn in sharp enough at the corner. DC had to turn somewhere to take the corner and it just happened that Felipe was there.

Both could have prevented the accident, but I still put the majority of the blame on Felipe. I hate to put the blame on a Ferrari driver, but I give "credit" where credit is due.

Don't overestimate yourself and your buddies.
Your arguments are mostly nonsense, thing is they do create an atmosphere,
    which sucks++

That would be day. If you survive 24h without bashing Massa it's a miracle.

We don't need to be on this side, that side, whatever.

How can one agree with you when you're asserting that Massa was off line,
bla bla he should be fired --- how many times have you seen
someone passing on the racing line ?

You want him to be fired for a successful pass on a suicidal clown who only managed to blow himself up,
but you praise Kimi for a failed pass "because he was in the process of passing" (too funny)

    Talk about nonsensical, crazy stuff.

Don't waste your time Mike, half of what this guy says makes sense only to himself. The interesting thing is that even the Brasilians don't think much about Massa as they did Ruebens.

It amazes me that people can look at the pictures clear as day, witness massa WAAAAAY off line, and behind DC, and say he "had position".

    Errrr what?

The turn they are approaching is a sharp turn. The racing line starts at the apex arcs back towards the outside of the track (basically draw an arc from the apex under the nose of DC's car). Massa would have been on line if this was a very slight turn where the track then went left. But for a sharp right hander, he is waaaay off line. If you draw a similar arc through Massas nose, it would be a very sharp pointed parabola. Sharp point means low speed. Drivers take a line that allows them to carry a lot of speed, not low speed. Massa is off line, he is behind DC. He was going to have to slow waaaay down and take the turn much slower than DC could have (because DC was on the racing line). Therefore, DC took his line. Massa had to slow up but couldn't get out of the way since he took a fast in/slow out line to the turn, and when DC continued on his preestablished line, Massa was there.

Massa was off line, Massa was behind DC, it was DC's position. Massa tried a bully move... DC called his bluff, and they crashed. Since Massa was behind, it was his mistake. As DC said, Massa was in the faster car - the burden was upon Massa to make the pass, and in a car so much quicker than the Red Bull, there is no need for kamikaze passing maneuvers. Unless the driver just is inept and does not posess the skill to make a pass, so they freak out and just end up resorting to the bull-in-china-shop method, as Massa did.

DC is awesome. He just shot up about 5 trillion points in my book. I'm glad he says whats on his mind, and always has. At least, after he left Mclaren.

so I guess we can all take that statement as fact. The fact is the some of you dont even believe the pictures of video. One guy said that Massa was off the racing line....ahemmm there is only one racing line and if you are the guy making the pass then its only obvious that you wont be on the line. Massa was well in DCs view but DC is a complete idiot and has caused many accidents and most of you know it. I have said it before and I will say it again....The only reason a select half dozen in here dont like Massa and bash him even when there is no reason is because their hero, Alonshole did not take his place in a Ferrari seat and that is eating them to the point of making dozens of ilogical posts.

no, no, no NO! the bashing continues because of Massa's driving (inability to)... which leads to irritated supporters who want someone more qualified in that second seat. .... someone who won't spin out all by his lonesome at the start of a race:) can't wait to read more excuses as the season progresses.... better get them ready!

Racers quite often have position when off the standard racing line. In fact that is how passing is usually done. It is called being on the inside line.
All quite dramatic in your telling, but as equally irrelevant. You don't get to continue on your "preestablished line" if it means you turn in to someone.

Again, your "off line" statement is useless here; Massa had the INSIDE line, and Massa clearly was not behind DC, he was alongside enough to have established the pass. Watch the video replay and it will become obvious, he was well enough up on the inside line to have clearly claimed the corner, it was DC's time to give way. that simple, and DC has even admitted he knew Massa was there. Massa braked deeper and cleanly and was in control. DC turned in to him. Maybe you don't realize that the passing car does not have to be fully and equally alongside to have established a pass?
To restate properly: "Massa came up the inside, outbraked DC and was well enough alongside to have established the pass, DC turned in to him, and they crashed."

Disclaimer: I don't think Massa is worthy of a Ferrari seat and will be gone from Ferrari in 2009.

    Agree.
The race I watched, Massa did not outbrake DC. DC made it to the corner first. Massa only made it so far up the side of DC to get his front wheel between both of DC's wheels (ie. front and rear right). Massa never had that corner IMO. He needed to have his front wheel almost up to DC's front wheel to claim the corner.
    Agree.

Massa braked later which allowed him to get the inside (DC was way over)

The fact that DC crashed into Massa as he did (watch where he hits him)
is proof that Massa had the line.

Outbrake means that you get to the corner FIRST.

Not halfway up the side of your competitor. Massa did not outbrake DC, he may very well have braked later but he never got up the inside properly to dominate the corner.

From what I saw, Massa braked later to get alongside DC just as he was turning in towards the apex. Massa was being a bit wishful with that move, but DC should have seen Massa wasn't going to back off and left some room.

I guess I mustn't. I personally cannot see the point of outbraking somebody if you actually DON'T get to the corner first, after all you are trying to pass the other guy. That is what I used to try and do when I was having a braking duel, ie. brake later so I got "the corner" ... I guess it means other things to other people. Oh well ...
