FA would be the best man in a Ferrari to beat LH at the min, if The Aussie GP is anything to go by, but it would need a team effort and the only problem I see with that is Ferrari would have to give him #1 status .

According to interview with Ron Dennis, there was flack between Kimi and JPM in both directions, well before Indianapolis. And now Kimi has tasted the WDC. That changes the mindset.

It way too unrealistic to assume that Kimi Raikkonen will just drive and get along with whomever would be his teammate. I don't see Alonso at Ferrari. Last month I mentioned Vettel on this forum, Varsha confirmed that Sunday. Nico Rosberg is the other name I have heard for Ferrari. The only question, is who will leave after 2009, that will determine who gets the seat. Do not assume it will be Massa, that would be a wrong assumption.

So, I do not believe you will ever see a Raikkonen/Alonso team. Maybe in go-karts, but not in F1.

i love how in f1 if a driver has one or two bad racing everyone assumes he's no good, washed up, or lacks the desire to win. let's face it both driver's had a rough day end of story. as soon as one of them wins everyone will proclaim their mastery of the sport and deny ever questioning their abilities.

let's face it both massa and kimi are good drivers, and let's remember it may take some people longer to adjust to not having TC than others. I'll wait at least another 2 races before i get on either of them.

that's very true but I don't understand how massa doesn't get more respect around here. he carried ferrari for a good part of the middle of last season and even gifted one win to raikonnen which is what enabled him to win the championship last year. he seems to be a true team player which in f1 is so rare, and i believe having a number 1 and 2 driver is crucial to winning consistently.

 

FA beat Schumacher to win his two World Titles. I think he can handle anyone on the F1 grid.

 

rmani, I would like to introduce you to Ted, aka senna3xwc. Ted is living in the past, therefore his FChat handle. ;} He, and a few other souls here onFChat that pretend understand the sport, want me to think that Massa, the Ferrari driver that saved the Scuderia's image for the first half of the 2007 and has the 2007 record for single fastest race laps, is not very good. To me the irony is that when Massa tried to pass Hamilton last year in one of the early races, calls for his neck were launched like there was a nuclear missle attack on NYC. So when Kimi tried the same thing last Sunday and ended up in the gravel, these same people sat quietly. Probably with their thumbs up their rectums.

Massa qualified 4th, with a car having a full fuel tank for a one stop strategy. No one considerd the fuel load when they criticized Massa's fast lap, except for the one comment I made here on FChat last Saturday about fuel load. So you gotta believe that if Massa had the same 2 stop strategy as the Hamilton McLaren, good ol Phil would have been on pole.

When Massa spun out on the first lap, certainly forgetting he had no TC and stomping the gas pedal, again there were calls for his head. By the same no-it-alls, who apparently know nothing. But then when Kimi blew it and spun, once again they sat their with their thumbs up their collective rectums.

I agree with you rmani (cute play on words). Kimi and Phil, they are both very good drivers. Kimi is naturally faster, Phil is being taught to be faster. They both have their positives, they both have their negatives. They make an excellent team with no apparent personality ripples, the most stable team in F1 that is capable of winning every race. I know Super Aguri is full of friends, but right now they can't win. Now come the same know-it-alls, and arm chair quarterback the next Ferrari team thinking Alonso and Raikkonen would make another peaceful no conflict team. Apparently they forgot how well Alonso got along with his rookie teammate at McLaren, a kid that on the surface appeared to be fairly level headed. Sort of like Kimi appears, mellow, who cares kind of attitude.

I think it premature to make such hasty judgements about a team's drivers. Fortunetely, none of us really runs the Scuderia, or there would be chaos. Luca and Stepano like both Kimi and Phil, that is all that matters.

Personally, I hear that there will be no change after 2009 until 2011, all dependinig on Kimi's decision in 2009. As long as Massa continues doing well, which he does and will do, he will have the seat until 2011. Rumor is Vettel and Rosberg have been approached. Alonso is an outside possiblity if Kimi decides he has had enough F1, as Alonso/Massa would also be a peaaceful team.

 

Last year wasn't the same move, but hamilton tricked Massa and made him make a mistake..

He had a one stop strategy, as did Kimi. That needs a lot of fuel on a relatively fast circuit.

 

Alonso beat McLaren's unreliability to get his 2005 title. He didn't beat Schumacher, as Schumacher was not in a competitive car.


I don't see Alonso/Raikkonen ever being paired in Ferrari. When was the last time, if ever, that Ferrari put two obviously number 1 drivers in the car? They always have a number 1 driver, and a number 2 driver. Raikkonen is going to do incredibly well this year, and Massa isn't a back of the grid driver. He is the perfect driver for Ferrari. There is not a single other driver i would want as a number 2 driver. But, of course.. I am biased towards Raikkonen, as we all are biased towards one driver or another. This season is going to be fantastic no matter who wins though.

 

I don't think Kimi and Alonso can drive together.
Alonso is a cancer and kimi is not a cherry pie. Also Massa have a contract until 2010 season and kimi contract expire in the 2009 season just like the Alonso with Renault.

Please don't bring Alonso to Modena

 

I think that's the dumbest thing I've ever read. You run with-what-you-brung. That's like saying none of the other drivers lost to Schumacher because they weren't in competitive cars.

.Massa never qualified with a full tank for a 1 stop strategy ! he changed his strategy to 1 stop because he crashed,
went to the pits to change the front wing, and stop 1 lap later to fully fill his tank...
