Please do report back, with pics!

When you are there, ask the auctioneers that did they know this F40 is the 131st USA specification example built? I guarantee that information will be greeted with a blank stare...

I love their data... 216 USA F40s. I have the 3 extra cars in storage :)

But production only till 1991. The 1992s must be replicas.

High bid was $575k - couldn't tell if it sold or not - I was bidding from Simulcast.

The car was pretty nice, no service records present but stated recent service. the high bid was $550k and they were looking for $575k. I think the simulcast bids were from "friends" because there waqsn't even a hand in the air here. The car was being offered by Interstate motorsports, who had their entine inventory here and so far has only sold one car (a 2002 Viper)

I was the high bidder at $550k - I got a counteroffer online for $600k, which I rejected (of course). Then it said "new ask - 575,000, "Live bidder - 575,000, SALE PENDING"

It looked to me as if 575 was the highbid and they wanted to sell it for 600. There were a few floorbidders which was suprising.

And pray tell us what they tell you... they own and control the "Gold Book" incidentally and I can tell you sales prices are not publicly divulged so its difficult to pin anything down.

Naturally I take all auction results with a grain of salt. A very large grain...

I didn't make it there today. I got held up with appointments in Lancaster all day, plus today is their big sale day. Monday I'll see what I can find out.

the fact it didnt sell does not surprise me at all. I have said numerous times that eventually, the recession will affect the values of even the most exotic collectibles....I own an F40 and I do not want to see it erode as did so many F cars in the ninetees; I saw Daytonas tumble from 500K to 125K in a months; I have no intention of selling my car/cars; but i firmly believe that the Ferrari market is not immune from a decline. 600K is a lot for a car that is not very low mileage; and may be a lot for a low mileage car soon.

I agree with you a 110% the recession is taking its toll now. They say the house market is up, BUT and I said BUT the the SELLERS are taking the it HIT. Better to hold on to and sell later then sell now and shoot yourself later.
