Guys, I have Imovie, but I also have final cut pro available to me for this project if it will help. I have a series of movies that are .wmv that I use flipformac to convert to a file Imovie can read, but when this happens I get a watermark over the film clips now from flipformac. When I open the clips in Final cut pro they are fine, but I am not good enough to do the project in final cut. When these clips are opened with quicktime they play without the watermark. Can anyone tell me how to get these into imovie without a water mark? Thanks, Erik
I use VisualHub http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ to convert from one format to another on my Macs... It is not free but it is pretty cheap at about $15.00 I believe. It does not put a watermark on the converted video, and I have converted several formats DVIX, WMV etc to MP4 so I can play them on my AppleTV. You could also use that format to import it into iMovie. Hope this helps... Scott
+1 VisualHub is great. Thats pretty weired that theres a watermark, cause both FCP and Imovies uses quicktime. I'll ask another fellow editor about this.
Erik, Are you using the free trial of Flip4Mac? Lots of these test versions will put a watermark on the end result from the free trial versions.. it is to encourage you to buy the full version. Looks like VisualHub is cheaper... I hadn't even seen Flip4Mac when I found VisualHub. Good luck... Scott
Yeah scott I am using the trial version. I am going to pull the trigger on VisualHub, but I am glad you reccommend it. I always get nervious about buying the full version of anything. Thanks, Erik
