The car is s/n 3705 GT. The stipes represent the French drapeau tricolore and are blue, white and red. No yellow. The miniature shown here is an Italian-built BBR, not by Frenchman André-Marie Ruf, but wrong nonetheless.
Nice picture of Ascari's 166MM #38. Is the photo from a book? Do you have pictures of 166MM race #37 at the same event?
have you got some photo of Ferrari 250 swb 1960 Roma 422423, chassis 2163, of the race 1000 km di Montlhery 23/10/1960, number race 2.... and of 1000km Nurburgring 28/5/1961 winner Carlo Abate
Hi All, Does anybody have any vintage photos of the 246 Dino that ran LeMans in 1972 as #46? I would really like a rear end shot if possible. Many thanks, Steve
There are this photographs of Serafini in the Daily Express Trophy at Silverstone. Copyright Ferrari V12 de Pritchard Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Steve, It is second hand information, but here is how MR saw it for their 1/43rd. model: http://www.cavallinomodels.com/products/displaydetails/Competition/1970s/Dino/Dino%20246%20GT/2242/ I can't get to my Provance Moulage instruction at the moment. Gil
There's a colour overhead shot in 'Ferraris at Le Mans' by Pascal, also a b/w front shot. The model in the above link looks accurate. Paul M
Its not completely accurate. They got the rear decal placement wrong. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, To end the model of Ferrari 250 GTO LM62 N°58 of Scudéria Serinissima, I shall need a photo of the back of the car, to be able to position of N° and the sticker of the team!!! This car s/n 3445GT was piloted by Nino Vaccarella and Giorgio Scarlatti, she abandoned in 15 hours on problems of engine in Le Mans 1962. Thank you for your searches. Many thanks Ed, I was pretty sure that there was a NART on the left side, and something on the licence plate area. The other two I had no idea that they were there...pretty easy to do them both now. I've got a friend working on a master for the Dino (no, not Harold), and yes, with wheels. I know S27 did a decal sheet a few years ago, but they missed a few things - think there is any need to redo them? Steve
VRM, I would say do it again. The Studio 27 sheets are hard to find. They never did the "Flairs and Chairs" parts for the Lemans 1972 246 Dino. I hope you do a transkit. I saw this car when it was owned by the doctor from Springfield, Missouri back in the 1990's. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs
Steve, I agree completely with Tom. I know Harold worked on the rims and the decals are hard to find. I wasn't able to save a set for myself. And I think it would sell great since I have yet to see anyone build one yet (although I sold many decals) See you in a few weeks Ed
I think so. One photo in "Ferrari, The Sport ans Gran Turismo Cars" page 51; in same race with the same car in the Starkey-Renwick-Olczyk book "Fifty years ont he track" page 31 - http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/0052M.166MM.htm But Martin writes below: - http://wsrp.ic.cz/intgb1950.html , 0054M ! ! ! I don't think 0054M can be in the USA with Bill Spear and in GB with Dorino Serafini
A few shots of 0856 taken in 1971, when owned by David Clarke. Thanks again to Jarrett for digitizing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a beautiful machine! Stunning photos! I also like the transporter in the back, but I have to admit I have a small vintage racing transporter fetish, then.
Ed, Your pictures are always so great. If you released them in a book I would certainly purchase a copy. Thanks for your posts and please keep them coming.
Thanks for sharing, Ed - great photos. Note in your bottom shot of the cockpit interior trim, how she looked back then, compared to her recent (2004) refreshment / re-trim. Photo courtesey of and copyright www.************* Image Unavailable, Please Login
