I'm more worried that they'll botch the pit rotations. But then, getting the engines right is also one of the details.

I'll probably do my "Master Yo" imitation on the couch for a couple of hours after dinner and set the travel alarm for the race. I'd wait for the replay (I didn't look -- I presume they'll have one), but I've noticed that Speed tends to "time compress" the replays during the commercial breaks: cut away for two laps worth, and return five laps later.

(I don't have my Linux DVR setup running yet -- too flippin' many options in the kernel these days. ;) (dual mode ICH7 for SATA and DMA access, PCIexpress options for the Nvidea, main vs forked DVD tools development tracks, etc etc etc.))

As for the background noise, is this the new P&R section?

Come on Mike, Phylotic is OK. He is like most of us and just looking out for the Tifosi. Even you have to like Massa a little. The guy has a heart as big as his car. He puts out 110%. I have always said that as long as someone puts his all into it he is ok im my books. Its the idiots that try to fanagle their way out of it that piss me off. Tonights race will be interesting and we will see who brought what amount of fuel to the party. ;)

same feelings here John, lucky you didn't make the Aussie race, was extremely hot even by own standards, Massa looked good but then so did Kimi while the cars were running in Oz, hoping for a good result today

I'm on whoever is driving the red cars side ... hell I'd even be a Ronny Dennis fan if he was driving the Cavallino around the track :D

is it me or does LH look TOO manufactured ??

probably didn't have much of a chance to be 'normal' due to the tunnel upbringing

Ron, the reason I don't have the same difficulty with Kimi is that at least when he screws up he doesn't take someone else out with him. As far as the Massa/Coulthard incident I agree it was basically a racing incident and blame should go out proportionately. You know I always respect your opinion and if it was mean't as a pot shot it wasn't directed towards you.

    +1 to both of you

all 4 of them were going very slowly - the onboard footage of massa (iirc) was comical
as to impeding, well all depends where on the track they were i guess - but to penalise just 2 drivers when plenty were all doing the same thing seems somewhat ridiculous.

On a different note - has Toyota finally gotten it's act together? Very surprising to see their qualifying results. Good for Trulli - mega-talent and a nice guy....
With all of the other F1 drama, they have slipped beneath the radar to me....very interesting.

Pops, stop talking with your mouth full and don't flatter/vomit on yourself so much.

Try to stand on your own two feet - surely someone as portly and archaic as you
doesn't need the assistance of the Fchat Mafia.

And before you start your demented passing nonsense again,
    go take some racing lessons.

I have no doubt that Massa puts in 110%... I'd rate him one of the harder working guys on the grid, no doubt about it. I honestly don't dislike Massa as a person, I just don't rate him highly in terms of skill. I never really liked Barrichello either (and I was often flamed for bashing Rubinho on this site after one of his screw-ups). I hope Massa pulls a victory from his pole - hey he achieved pole and it would be a fitting result for the work he put in. Honestly, I know as well as you do (and everyone who participates in the pro or con Massa threads) that we really won't know anything for sure until we can look at the whole season on balance. I'm sure Massa will have great races and bad ones, so will Kimi. Only when we can compare them for whole seasons will we know. Kimi/Massa were closer than I thought they'd be last year. Some chalk that up to Massa being pretty darn good, others just figure Kimi had a hard time with the car. No excuses this year though! Kimi better perform or some of us will be eating crow on the Massa bashing :)

We shall see - but it's always (to me) interesting to talk, argue and debate sometimes over it and I never ever tire of waiting for the next race!

The same Massa fan's who would let him run over there faces to defend him, are the same fan's who constantly bash Lewis Hamilton, which only leads me to believe:

They are so paranoid they don't fart, fear of crapping themselves..

    Let Massa do the talking...:)

Hey stalker, whats up? Still following me around like a shadow, I see. I know, I know, the smackdown hurt - but sometimes you just need to learn.

Always the same with Psychotic... never any substance. What are you going to fall back on now to support Massa? Let me guess, your extensive racing experience (hahahah!) shows you that something broke on his car and it was Kimis fault, right? Ha!

Thanks, but it isn't that hard to predict: Massa was always fast and a great starter at Sauber. But he always had difficulties keeping the car on the track, particularly in traffic. He is another Damon Hill: Superfast test driver, but not great at passing and in traffic. So he can win from the pole if not pressured too hard and just like Hill he has done that.

I don't believe in the theory of drivers getting better. Yes, they all improve to some degree, but they don't make quantum leaps. If they "study" under a great driver, they can learn a few tricks, but that won't change their race craft dramatically. Berger learned a few things from Senna, but was still Berger: A driver who was blindingly fast when the planets aligned and a DNF in the next race. Sounds familiar?

The years of "the new and improved Massa" really were the years when TC and the driving aids made up for the lack of car control. The Sauber probably never was as sophisticated as the Ferrari and what looked like a driver getting better now looks more like electronic helpers covering those years. Massa is basically "back" where he was in the Sauber. Not more improved as a driver than anybody else.

You have a very warped perspective on this matter. I don't belittle Felipe Massa. He simply isn't as great as a lot of the posters here make him out to be, yourself included. You try to be real careful and tread the line between the two drivers, but your agenda always shines through; you simply can't help yourself.

You say I "belittle" him, but your fan club skews his merits and worth more than mine. Also of note, if Massa was as competent a driver as Raikkonen, then I wouldn't have to take a side.

After Massa's horrendous showing today, you're back on my block list because I don't want to read your "poetic" garbage.

+1000000000000000000000000000000000 on the Massa fan club counting chicks before eggs hatched, and on the prediction.... i love the excuses so far, they are excuses but trying not to make them sound like excuses... the Massa crowd is funny...
