We live in KY and are thinking about spending few days in sunny FL with a beach and good food..Orlanda is around 800 miles from Louisville which is bit too far..would like to stay within 250 miles of Atlanta,GA ( 250 miles from where we live )..
    Any ideas...

Great weather at that time of year. It is our dry season, so not much rain likely, and the temps are nice and warm with reasonably comfortable night temps.

If you are a golfer that enjoys a challenge I would recommend Bay Point Marriot Holf Resort and Spa. When I lived in Atlanta, a group of us would go down once a year for a 3-day golf outing. The first time on the course we saw what we thought was a beer cart approaching. It wasn't. Turns out it was a GOLF BALL cart. We thought that was such a silly idea we laughed them away. By the middle of the second round we were flagging the cart over in our direction for 'reloads'! Turns out there is a LOT of water and a LOT of wind off the Gulf. It was a real challenge.

the weather is warm in the day and cool at night. there are quite a few condo/ hotels all along the gulf that rent weekly. some even offer free nights. things are quite now as the snowbirds are leaving and spring break is just about over. bay point is running a $39 special on the nickluas course. there's a rental service up the corner called joni's beach rental. do a google search. i think the site is bchrentals.com

I own a new condo in Panama City, but Panama city currently caters to the college spring break crowd. Panama City beach has started several nice developments along with Pier Park lifestyle shopping center. However, it still has a long way to go. If you want a upscale area, then Sandestin, Seaside, Watercolor, Rosemary or Destin, FL.. The Watercolor Inn is one of the top rated hotels in the US. I have not had any problem driving or parking my 360 in those areas. Here are some links to give you some idea of those areas: Sandestin: www.sandestin.com Seaside: www.seasidefl.com, Rosemary: www.rosemarybeach.com Watercolor Inn: www.watercolorinn.com & www.watercolorvacations.com. Panama City: PCBdaily.com & Aqua condos. Tell me what you think.

I concur- my wife and I rented a house in Watercolors 2 weeks ago, and we are still here, don't want to leave. I lived in Florida for about 8 years, left in 95' and come back to vacation all the time. This is one of the best trips we've ever had. I'm still here, if you need the info, PM me.

I double concur. I live in Alabama and we can get to most all of Florida pretty easily, have for years, keep coming back to the Panhandle area (Destin, Seaside, Watercolors, Watersound, Sea Grove Beach, etc) and I'm headed there tomorrow morning.

My son and I are meeting my wife, daughter who are already there and said it's a 'little' chilly in the a.m. but beautiful afternoons. I'm taking a Viper GTS for whatever that's worth, but like many of you, the car is half the trip!

Come on down. Have fun. Call Garrett Realty (we went through Sea Grove Beach office) if you want to rent a house or condo. Very fair folks, would be glad to have you I'm sure. Tell them I sent you!

The weather is perfect- we've seen a number of high end cars here. There's a free concert in Seaside tonight that we are headed to. Unfortunately we head back tomorrow. My 4yr old son went to Camp Waterecolor today from 9-3, which is highly recommended, he had a blast. They take all ages.

We've decided to come back to Watercolor in June, and honestly we don't want to leave now, best trip we've ever had.
