Ron, it is funny (and wise) that you deleted your original message. (too bad for you I can still read it :))

I didn't write "Trust me." for no reason. Let's just say a little bird sat on my window sill.

For the record: I didn't like Schumacher.

I agree with you that the blood line thing is crap, but I didn't come up with that argument. The Phil Schumassa camp did.

I do fall for romantic stuff, which is why I wanted to see Jacques Villeneuve in the Ferrari. I realize and admit that was a bad idea.

But liking Kimi and Hamilton has nothing to do with romantic ideas. I simply adore their racing craft which (along with Alonso's) is above everybody else's.

The reason I don't like Massa is not about his appearance (although I agree that his clean cut image is just as boring as Schumacher's was, you call that quotidien, which is poignant). I don't like him because he doesn't understand his role as support driver and because he openly talks nonsense about racing for the title blablabla. That is just plain nuts. Eddie Irvine always said that he was the second best driver (which was a bit of an exaggeration anyhow), but it was his way of saying, that he understands his place in the universe. Massa doesn't. Let's be realistic: Even last year, it wasn't really a 1-1 team. Ferrari said that because they weren't sure how long it would take Kimi to fit into the team and it did take him a while, so giving Massa a good feel equal status wasn't a bad idea. Until he blew his chance and it was time to tidy up the game.

But quite frankly: The 50 vs 10 mio contract should have been an indication enough who is boss. The team was eternally thankful to Massa for having helped Kimi clinch the title and for giving away the victory at Interlagos (which was Massa's make no mistake about it). That's why they extended his contract and also because Todt knew that the power was about to change. So far the team is still grateful to Massa for his sacrifice last year, but he shouldn't test that understanding for too much longer.

    What Massa should do is:
    - accept the #2 status
    - no longer play games with Kimi like squeezing him against the wall
    - challenge the McLarens (particularly Hami) to no end

Challenging DC is pointless. Do that move with a McLaren and you win the sympathies of all the Tifosi in a heartbeat. Ferrari will pay the fine, Massa gets banned for a couple of races and then do it all over again. :)

    1. Get lost in Brazil and have Michael come back for a few races.
    2. Give back all the money he has gotten from Ferrari, he didn't earn it.
    3. Take out the first and last letters in his last name.
    4. Go to NASCAR
    5. Use the Massa Missile technique and take out other teams instead of himself.
    6. Admit he's a horrible driver and that he is only there because "Little Nicky" Todt is "Big John" Todt's little boy.
    7. Apologize to Tifosi for wasting our time and risking the WCC a few times.

    Feel free to add more.

    Sad, very sad...

Yes, Massa has had a bad start to the season.

No, he does NOT deserve this.

First wet race they'll have difficulty filling the podium.

there's a fundamental difference between Kimi last season and Massa's situation. Kimi needed time to get the chassis in tune with his engineers, and the tires. Massa has had cars tuned to his preference for the past 2+ seasons. No new team or chassis to dial in. There is nothing wrong with his current car... it is fast. well maybe the only bad thing about his car this year is the fact that it doesn't come with driver aides!

He's had two seasons already to prove he deserves his ride. How much more mediocrity does he need to show before you're convinced?!?

Massa has had a bad start to his career with Ferrari, unfortunately this bad start has lasted for 2 years.

He does deserve this, he gets paid millions of dollars to win races for Ferrari, not hand FREE points to BMW and McLaren.

I was willing to forgive him for the first race, if he did well in the second, which he failed to do. He already has an Oh Two Count, a third Strike and he's gone and Ferrari goes and steals someone with some real talent.

You are still missing the point Ron.... yes, WDCs spin out and wreck cars too; but the fact is the driver error happened twice in 2 consecutive races without other drivers' influence or technical issues from the car.

IS THAT TOO LOGICAL OR DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?

Yes, LH was similar last yr in China and Brazil, both incidents could have been avoided by the driver; but he was a damn rookie. And Massa has been here for the last 2 yrs. Even I am getting bored of this, you need to stop Ron. If you think WAIT and SEE is the way to go, then maybe you should start doing that instead of posting.

p.s. i am no LH fan either.

There aren't enough chimneys in Pittsburg to vent all this hostility. ;)

Maybe speed channel was right -- NASCAR is better suited to some race audiences.
