Yay! Just pulled my '86 328 safely into the garage after a 3000 mile journey from WA, DC. I can't more highly recommend the mover - Pacific Eastern Express, and owner/driver Constantine. He took kid-glove care of it from load in to load out, and even diverted from his schedule so I could get it before I go out of town tomorrow. If you need a GOOD car mover, PM me and I'll give you his info or just Google their name. Great folks. Anyway, it's finally home safe - now to deal with all the tabs, inspections, and TAXES (OUCH!! - going to be $4050 here in WA State just for the tax, before all the normal fees). Pix of arrival attached. No, there isn't a big yellow blob of paint on the hood - it's a reflected ceiling light! You can count on it!! I am not a 'garage queen' sort - I'm just chomping at the bit to get the title so I can get tabs and HIT THE ROAD!!! And I have all spring and summer to get to know her. Named her Sophia (My E500 is called Gunter) Dave
Mine's name is Roxanne. Congrats, these pictures make me remember when she came home last year. Enjoy in good health!
Congratulations, Dave! Your 328 is gorgeous! Drive it in good health. I love these delivery/birth shots. Alas, my GTB has no name. I've always referred to it as "The Ol' Girl." Carlos, the Chief Tech at Classic Coach, tagged my 550 with the name "Blue Thunder" when he did my pre-purchase major service. He stamped a name plate accordingly and tied it to the leather strap in the trunk.
Congrats! You are going to have a fantastic spring and summer. There is nothing like hearing that engine sing on a beautiful day. Best regards and hope to see more pix from spring/summer drives soon. Dino
Mazel Tov! Looks GREAT -- and that was a quick cross-country trip. Can't wait to see the car in person!!!
You live in UP I see. I used to live there about ten years ago. I have a good friend who lives on the lake in Lakewood. Maybe if you don't mind you could give him a ride someday. I would give him a ride in mine but he never comes to Arkansas. Congrats! Gene P.S. I see that the weather was a bit rainy, um, I mean, normal.
328s have painted nose louvres that can be chem striped and polished with Mothers alloy polish like euro QVs, and you get a great BB look. Not correct, but that long nose looks like BBLM,try it.
Reminds me of the day four years ago when I watched my 328 come off the truck. Enjoy it, and don't be afraid to drive it in the typical northwest rain. That's why the car has windshield wipers! (I should know; I used to live in Seattle myself.)
Great 328. WA State has very nice Summer weather, so you should enjoy. I am interested in the car transporter you used. I just sent you a PM.
