Alonso would relish in the opportunity to drive for Ferrari this season. He could get a few wins and really stick it to Lewis.
The season will be a waste if Felipe continues to DNF or get ZERO points.

To be honest I think he would leading the WDC if he had been in the horse this year, but that maybe where the problem is! As we have seen with Massa, two driver's same team, fighting for one piece of tarmac..

BTW I still think Lewis may have his hand's full with HK..

I think teammate rivalries are great as long as they don't detriment the team's chances of winning. Last year's season was entertaining partly because of the Alonso/Hamilton rivalry... and when it was a 4-way race with Massa seeming to be in the running with Kimi it was all the more so. Alonso may be all wrong personality wise, but the guy can drive the balls off a competent F1 car in nearly any track condition. I say let him drive here. At the end of the day, Ferrari (and all of us) want to win, period. And if we don't have a strong driver to pair with Kimi, someone who can come in & hit the road running, we can forget about a WCC for a while.

I don't disagree I'am all for every man for himself!! ,but without starting a well trashed out point, it was quite plain to see last year with Mclaren it doesn't alway's pan out TEAM infighting.

BTW Having said that, I hated the MS #1 set up, and offically against the rules but it worked look at the history.

Assuming we ignore the espionage fiasco, McLaren were well ahead in Constructor's points with both Alonso and Hamilton finishing (infighting) on the podium for the majority of the season... until the strip-down. All those WCC's we got during the MS era also came as a result of Barrichello doing his part (teamwork/finishing races)... my point was -- stick Alonso in the stable if Massa doesn't get with the program the next few GP's; let him fight it out with Kimi (and Lewis for that matter); as long as the team gets those points.

+ Even with everything else against them only Hamilton's rookie mistakes at the end of the season lost the title for McLaren.

Where do you draw the line? What if Mass is pushing Kimi to the limits and ends up in the back of him? The team could lose 18 constructors point and 18 driver points, that could put you well behind.

No actually, I like 99% of the folks on here, but sorry - saying that some people need mental help (those who don't see things her way) is a comment worthy of an entrail-gnashing.

Remember when both Senna and Prost drove for McLaren? Those guys crashed into each other on more than one occasion. That rivalry made Alonso and Hami look like school boys.

Rivalries in that combative sense is not what I'm referring to. A Prost/Senna situation leaves no winners. A Hamilton/Alonso rivalry where ultimate speed, tactical ability and driving ability in a race for a WDC does work, & makes for a nearly automatic WCC & to a lesser extent, great entertainment. Anybody recall any GP last year where those two (Hami/Alonso) tried to take one another out in the first lap on the first corner? Of course, MASSA WOULD probably end up rear-ending Kimi nowadays...

A rivalry that works: Kovalienen will push Hamilton this year, they are nearly on par with one another, and will more than likely share podiums as a result. Massa is no Kimi, (and for that matter no Barrichello) & no points are awarded for pole positions. I have no doubt Kimi will be in runnings for WDC this year as long as we maintain reliability... A Ferrari WCC? No way, unless Massa gets up to form.

Hamilton accused Alonso of serious foul play during a first corner incident at yesterday's Belgian Grand Prix that demonstrated the enmity tearing the team apart. Hamilton claimed Alonso deliberately forced him off the track in the dogfight for position behind the dominant Ferraris, a move that helped Alonso finish third, one place ahead of Hamilton, and cut his title lead to two points

After the race, it emerged that Alonso deepened divisions at the besieged team by offering the mechanics working on his car a bonus of €1000 ($1650) a race to help beat Hamilton to the world title. Though McLaren put a stop to the scheme, the rift remains.

    Get the picture..

Even Peter Sauber has chimed in on www.F1-live.com,
that when things go wrong Massa loses concentration.
I too am afraid Massa will take out his teamate as evidenced
    last race,1st turn.

    In two years together:

    2 WDCs
    2 WCCs
25 GP wins in 32 races

I'd say that it was a successful partnership. What more do you want?

Sorry if this is a repost, but two good bits from Planet F1:

The PF1 Forum's Overtaking Move Of The Race -
The way Felipe managed to make the rear of his Ferrari overtake the front...

From Martin Brundle's commentary on Massa during the race-
“...ambition getting the better of adhesion.”

OOOoops! I guess either all the ducks aren't in a row or the whole "hitting the curb caused an aero stall" thing was a bunch of BS.
