err...yeah, that's comparing a rotten apple to a golden pear... not the same thing, not even close...
LOL...you got me! How did I let that one slip? Oh yes, I have blurted the entire San Marino GP from my memory.
Agree, it has been rediculous ... but it has kept the site alive . It still amazes me how many silly people have written off Alonso, and I'm also waiting for the crazy threads about LH's team mate, now that he has beaten him in a race ... in the same machine, etc. LH is great and all, but Alonso is still the better driver (doubly proved by having to fight against his team and still nearly winning the WDC) and the one I would hire ... and I will keep saying that until LH has 2 WDC's under his belt. LH's chances really rely 100% on how good the Ferrari car is for the next few years, if Ferrari keep building the fastest car on the grid, LH may become the modern Moss. Especially if Alonso does end up in Ferrari next year. It is great though to see such good talent arriving and making their mark in F1. Pete
He lost the 2006 Constructors Championship for Ferrari, and one could argue that he also lost the WDC for Schumi that year. He very nearly lost the 2007 Constructors Championship but due to the remarkable driving of the Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari was saved. Felipe has taken a salary from Ferrari that he didn't earn which could have used to build a windtunnel, race track, or on R&D. Massa has filled a seat that a better driver should be in. Massa has succeeded in starting the 2008 tied for 19th in the WDC race. Thats only off the top of my head. Oh yeah, BTW Massa sucks.
After 2 Races Alonshole hasnt done much. As I said in a previous post he is looking very middle of the pack driver. The only way he is moving ahead in the pack has been mostly through attrition. Last race he was beaten soundly by Trulli and he finished behind Weber. Come on now is the Renault that bad. If MS was in the Renault I can garauntee that he would have made it shine more than Alonshole. Flavio is already in public disagreement with him. Does it surprise anyone that he is telling the world that his Renault is slow and dosnt have a chance. He should just do what he is getting paid for and start developing the car. Oh wait maybe he cant without delarosa and the Ferrari plans. For the last 2 years Alonshole had the help of Ferrari and 3 years ago he was gifted by an FIA tire ruling which was quickly reversed in 2006. When you look at what Alonshole has done its been with lots of help legal or not. Its no wonder he wants to go to Ferrari as soon as he can because the forest he has been hiding in is quickly burning around him. If he is so good then show us NOW in the Renault. Show us how you can bring a 4th rated car to the podium buy developing the car and passing others on the track. Show us the great moves that he has thus far only done in the top cars. MS and Senna did it but so far Alonso really has not. I say by the end of this season many including Ferrari may change their view of Alonshole.
Sauber said it right....Massa disintegrates not necessarily under pressure, but when he feels that things are going away from him. If I were in his position, I would focus my attention on trying my best to helping Kimi win the WDC (like he tried helping MS). He might be surprised that some good races would fall on his lap as a result. I don't think he can go on the hunt and succeed....because when he does, he spins out. I would like him to prove me wrong though.
Alonso did very much so when he drove the Minardi. MS never drove a car that bad, so I say Alonso has proven all he needs to prove. In the end mate, you can only win in a good car. Alonso did well to bag 4th at Melbourne and I am sure is working hard to make the car faster. It is obvious to all that the car is not good, so Flavio needs to start listening. As for the Toyota, with Alonso or MS driving heck maybe they would be winning if the car is good enough to give Trulli-useless a podium. Oh and your mate Massa is no patch on Alonso. But keep knocking Alonso if it makes you feel better  Pete
First off he would not be driving the red car if it were not for JT. Nicholas Todt is Massa's agent and the son of JT. Now that JT is out of the way, so will Massa be. Luca has his choice of Fred or Sebastion to run along side Kimi. This coming season we will see Fred start driving a red car in my opinion. As for Massa, he's fast on an open track with no traffic but in traffic or when under the gun the poor boy can't be consistent.. He's just not to the task of being a Ferrari driver, so give him a few more weeks before Luca cuts him off at the knees in a polite way and sends him packing. Say what you want about Fred but there are only three drivers on the grid that are at his level, Kimi, Fred himself and Hami..
Ferrari's history has shown that they have continually hired sub-par drivers who have done nothing as their number two driver. So why is Massa any different? Berger made his share of errors when he was number 2. Rubens made fewer mistakes, but was slow. All of Ferrari's #2 drivers were subpar and hadn't shown anything until Ferrari hired them. Massa is no diiferent, just a different flaw. Alonso's problem is he has gotten too full of himself and he has brain washed himself by reading all of his own scrap book newspaper clippings. He's a quality driver, but I think the feud with Hami may have ruined him. If Massa finishes half of the races in the points, he will cream Alonso in the point standings. The Renault being a piece of crap will not help Alonso's point total either.
The only person at Fred's level is Kimi.. When the going got tough last year, Fred put Hami into the weeds, the man is fearless, not afraid to take a calculated risk, and he has good luck... Massa has no luck, only drives good on an open track, sucks in traffic, and can't think with his head instead of letting his hormones rule his judgement. He got all pissed off at Kimi last weekend, lost his concentration and went agricultural on us... That's why Finn's are the best driver, it's all about concentration and no emotions when they are driving... That's why Schumi was and is the best, it's all about focus with that man, when he's racing, you are in the way, and he finds the way around you. In all honesty when Michael is on the track, the only person racing him, is himself.
Corrected to make logical sense. I wouldn't hold my breath in Massa beating Alonso this year though ... but considering he is driving the second best car on the grid, the odds are in Massa's favour. Pete
+1, people like to forget that Alonso won the second half of last year against LH, AND against the McLaren team. Opinions are lovely, but man some are cr@p Pete
Hey, nutcase, take a break from your non-stop Massa fellatio routine, and address your pitiful command of your maternal lang and the logic discrepancies fluttering in what appears to be your only head.
He knows how to put on a party and have a nice wedding... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like Massa. He drove a hellava race until the spin last week. Keep in mind Kimi's performance the first race in Melbourne. Massa is a great driver and I think works well as a co-driver at Ferrari.
Although I recognize that Massa is often very quick - sometimes surprisingly and unexpectedly so - I must admit he doesn't really inspire confidence to always get the job done like MS did and Kimi does now. BTW, for all the posters with "Senna" in their user names, don't be too harsh on Massa for his unassisted spin. Even a 3-time WC can get flustered: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ELCLiN0g64&feature=related
ZING!!! Nice post. Everybody makes mistakes too sometimes, Felipe prefers to make them at every race though.
You make a good point, but I do have to agree with them on this one. They will forgive Massa for an unassisted spin after he wins 3WDC's.
