I doubt that many dealers run these checks AFTER the car is sold...

i must have missed this fact. i thought it was paid for and registered with the title transferred. you only have 30 days to transfer a title.

The relevant date is the Purchase Order date: 12/20/2007. A sale date prior to the alleged date of it being reported stolen.

Another totally BAD and SCREWED Up coincidence it looks like, leaving neither party at fault for not finding out it was stolen.

So, in essence, you are implying that Roy was *lying* when he said he had informed you that the car was being asked about?

Josh, did abolfaz have the correct VIN#?

Or is it some other car that came up stolen, and not yours?

It was the same VIN# that Josh gave me, I confirmed the vin# with the LV police and also have the case # which references said vin#.

    Correct vin.

    Update: Purchase order: 12/20/2007

THE MONEY WAS SENT IN PARTS.

THE FINAL AMOUNT OF MONEY WAS NOT RECEIVED TO CATS EXOTICS UNTIL 12/27/07.

I HAVE DOCUMENTS TO BACK UP THAT CLAIM.

    Okay blanket update statement time:

Car sale is not complete until money is paid and car is delivered, on 12/27. Based on new info and research it is now gleaned that car was reported stolen prior on 12/22. It can now be said as an update that Cats Exotics sold a stolen motor vehicle.

    Any disputants?

That does not matter. The Purchase Order is on 12/20/07. That is the sale date of the car. Many dealers of "regular" cars allow you to drive off and leave a hold check or make sure your bank gets them a check or funds within 3 days. Or if you finance through something like Ford, the dealer sells you the car on the purchase order date and then the dealer does not receive the funds from Ford Credit for several days.

Thank you, and again a grey area. So legally in most states sale is at PO or contract date, as you said just because Cats wouldn't let him take the car without full payment, other dealers such as Ford may have. Interesting.
