    I had numerous small capacity bykes when I lived in Manila. From the modern GSXR250/400's to the ZXR250/400's to RGV250 Gamma's and NSX's PGM2-4 and then of course the NC series bykes. I loved all of them and I wish I kept them all. My mom hated the fact that I "stored" most of them in her garage. Bykes like these can be had for cheap, if you ever "need" one just let me know and Ill source the best one for you! :D

    Bikes like these are almost never sold in the US. Many years ago (1991?) we got a Suzuki Bandit 400, Honda CB-1, and Yamaha FZR400. No street-legal two strokes since the mid-80's Yamaha RZ350. There are a few Chinese or Korean brands no one has ever heard of selling air-cooled 250's. IMO the unknown quality and whether they will even be here next year scares off experienced buyers.

    These bikes have never sold well in the US, people want bigger and faster. Only the bargain basement priced bikes survive, all we have is the Ninja 250 from the Big Four. It is a shame that the rest are not available really, as they would be ideal beginner or city bikes. But we have 110mph scooters for that...

    I for one would like to try a 20,000 rpm GSXR400 or a two-stroke Cagiva Mito. But considering they would cost almost as much as a 600 in the States, it makes sense for the vast majority of buyers to go bigger.

    There are/were a few "niche" shops in LA that were able to service my (street reg.'d) RGV. I wouldn't recommend a (newer) 600cc bike to a starter though. Even the "bigger" step through's are still quite nervous to ride past 45mph. But considering most Americans would rather buy a newer, better bike than these small capacity bykes, I can see why the market would be weak. Wouldn't it be nice to have one though? :D

    The new Ducati 1098 is the best looking motorcycle that I've ever seen. I love Japanese sportbikes, and I think that the bike combines the best elements of Japanese styling with the best type of Italian flair. It's perfect.

    Those are road legal? Looks like something that finished MotoGP and was going to drive home.

    I'm not in to bikes but I may get a license for MC next summer and get a 999... Something about you vs. the deadly machine that is inspiring :)

    This is a CR500 in a 250 chassis. Some of the guys I raced against started saying "What do you need THAT thing for- it's overkill", so I had some graphics made up that said "OVERKILL". They just hated following me, the 500 throws a lot of roost.:)
    Not a real pretty bike, but like 80 hp and 220 lbs is pretty good.:)

    It started as a "basic" a 999R Xerox Ed. then I decided to save the original fairings and used the DP Carbon (faithfully painted in Xerox colours) race fairings and rode that as is in the Philippines. Its a biatch at night though :D
