MAX MOSLEY BUSTED BIG TIME

What I don't understand is that this story is on the front page of msnbc, but I can't find it anywhere on formula1.com.

 

Mike, the British F1 Media are keeping it low key right now.

 

IMO it's Rupert Murdoch the guy that own's the paper ,Max took action against him for slander ,he is a bigger fish, so the high and mighty Max has met his match.

 

That site is owned and run by Formula 1 i.e. Bernie. You'll never find anything about it on there.


P.S. SpeedTV is owned by FOX. So, we'll see what shows up there in the days to come. They may just let the other NewsCorp outlets take the story in order to protect their F1 rights.

I noticed that too and have to say there goes their credibility.

I'm *VERY* happy about this. Finally somebody the mighty Max can't squelch. But that doesn't really change the outcome of the story: Max will remain in power. Indefinitely.

 

I still can only think of one person who has a track record of this ... Jean Todt. Brilliantly screwed McLaren to get the 2007 WDC and WCC.

So again we have a similar situation, somebody doing something that is not totally morally right to many people but also done by many ...

Whoever did it does not care about F1's image, so it was not Bernie. The only team that really does not care about the image of F1 is Ferrari, because they really are above it and they know it. If Ferrari decided to go play somewhere else, F1 would suffer big time. The only thing I do not understand is Jean has Max in his pocket, but ofcourse if Jean took over Max's job, then the FIA would really be completely at Ferraris mercy. Maybe it's retaliation for not permanently getting rid of their only opposition, McLaren, or for not clearing LH's and Alonso's WDC points last year ... ? ... now there's a motive .

BUT after all that, it makes more sense that it simply was a newspaper, trying to make a big story to sell papers. I don't think it was Max, but an actor.

Thanks m8. I think so too, if I may say so: At the USGP05 EVERYBODY except Jean Todt were against Mad Max, yet he won. It not only showed what Pete is alluring below (Todt has Mosley in his pocket), but also that Mosley reports to nobody. Not the manufacturers, not Bernie, not the fans, not the race organizer, not the sponsors, only to himself.

The argument that BMW and Mercedes won't stand for this is a good one, but again, remember how much power they had? They initiated the GPMA and where did that go? Exactly nowhere.

As much as I hate to say this: Max will remain in power forever.

 

Well if he (assuming it is actually true, which I don't believe) keeps going to these things, surely he will age faster ... so instead of condemning it we should all be encouraging, heck maybe donating to the cause to get a few extra "ladies" to wear him out

Is what he allegedly do illegal?

 

Perhaps the manufacturers don't have enough power to do anything but given the Nazi overtones of his little menage', a whole country or two may get involved, especially since Germany goes to such legal lengths as ban anything Nazi related. He may fight back and threaten a GP or two but that could really cause the whole thing to spiral out of control. If Bernie is threatened with enough financial damage, he would probably turn on Max in a heartbeat.

The Spanish GP should be fun.............

 

I would suspect some activist fan with some themed costumes may beginning showing up at races...

I think Mosley will end up being squeezed out. I think he will absolutely NOT go of his own volition, however. He will have to be dragged from the building kicking and screaming. Max is drunk on power. He wants to dictate terms to multi-billion dollar global corporations like Mercedes, Michelin, etc. I think he is a megalomaniac and I bet he likens himself to heads of state and such. Someone like that will NEVER release their grip on power.

However, Max's power comes from the audiences of the sport. Without the viewership there is no sponsors. Without the sponsors there is no manufacturers. Without any manufacturers there is no series, and without a series there is no governing body. It's a situation that usually flows from the top down but can be reversed by a paradigm shift in thinking that's great enough to cause revolt.

Mosley F-ed up big enough to cause that. Why?

Well, in Europe, WWII is still a pretty sensitive topic. Making light of it will really piss off a lot of Brits. A hoity-toity English prat who is a closer Nazi is something they will simply NOT stand for, most especially if said prat is in a position of power. Furthermore, the FIA is a French organization. How can the French (who have every right to be a tad sensitive about Nazi topics) let this stand? Making light of Nazi'ism is a massive no-no in Germany. How can BMW and Mercedes Benz remain in a series where the guy who oversees it (the CEO, if you will) is a closet Nazi?

No, there will be a groundswell of support for his ouster. He will be compelled to leave.


Now, Max is enough of an arrogant ****** that he won't leave, despite everyone telling him to. So, what I think will happen is that the FIA will have to initiate a vote of no confidence in him. The public outrage will be so great that they will have to do *something* to show they are not on his side. If he doesn't resign over that, then I think they would have to enact whatever rules they have that equate to a recall or impeachment in the USA. Yes they are in his pocket, but as soon as it's clear that Max is going down, then they will jump ship to save their own skin. When they behold the tsnuami of outage and mass of demands calling for Mosley to be GONE, they will look left and right like spectators at a tennis match, quickly decide who'se going to win this battle (and 0% of them will figure Mosley to win) and they will jump ship like so many rats fleeing the titanic.

IMO this is akin to John McCain dropping the N-bomb in a hatred filled rant against black people, Jews and Arabs. It's just too big - he couldn't withstand it. Nobody could.

And in a way, I hope Mosley does play the stubborn dolt and try to stick it through - let him be dragged through the mud. Either way he's going to lose everything - he can do it with an atom or two of dignity right now, or he can go to the chopping block being dragged by the will of the people, embarassing himself the whole way.

Either way he's done!


As soon as the British press puts this story mainstream, it's just not going to go away. This issue will overshadow anything that happens this weekend in Bahrain. And while the F1 sites aren't reporting it because it's gutter-news scanadalous junk, it's still very relevant to F1. Once people start calling for his ouster and team bosses weigh in and heads of state and/or racing officials in various countries and (most importantly) SPONSORS weigh in, then the F1 sites will have to start carrying the story and it will build pressure until Max is forcefully expelled like a reluctant turd.

Someone must have known that Max has "alternative" tastes, and the setup went from there. Quite likely that he used these "performers" previously, and the person(s) behind the setup persuaded them to co-operate. Who owned the flat ?
If you follow the money trail, or who had the most to gain by humiliating Max, then you'll get closer to the source of the setup.

Of course, it could just be a simple attempt at blackmail , where Max didn't co-operate.

And, my view is he won't survive this scandal intact,

For a start, a divorce *must* be likely.

The racial overtones won't go down well anywhere, in particlular in the emerging markets where F1 is trying to get a foothold. They may not care much about Nazi's & whatever, but they are sensitive to implied racism.

His personal credibilty is ruined, there is no way you could deal with a guy like that, without wondering what was going on in his head. Intoduce him to your wife, daughter or friends - not likley - he's a deviate.

Lastly, he displayed a massive error of judgement in arranging his "entertainment". He didn't control the environment, and didn't take adequate protection against being blackmailed / photographed. ( ie , wear a mask ). Someone with poor judgement should not be in a position of power / responsibilty.

The most important thing in business/ life / relationships is a person's reputation. His is ruined.

At any rate this was a deliberate attempt to get the guy. Quo Bono?? Who stands to gain by torpedoing the guy and ending his career? It's some one or entity he's pissed off etc. If you looked back at any sour dealings that might be a clue. Probably a dispute over huge money some how.

 

I hope you're right SRT Mike. Ultimately if it's bad for business it will be gone. The last thing sponsors want is to be, even remotely, related to nazi anything.

Good point. As bizarre as this whole story seems to be it's his life and if he's not breaking any laws there's not much anyone can do about it. What I don't understand is how he would allow a camera in there to film all this.

Nah, storm in a tea cup. It will be over in a week, possibly with the original news paper forced into revealing that it was made up and not Max at all.

If it was Max it will still blow over. Many people wear Nazi gear to fancy dress parties nowadays, and other than that all he did was have kinky sex (to many, but not all) ... which is really between him and his family.
