Has anyone done the research to see, acurately, the production numbers of the different models over the past 15 years? It seems to me that there are a ton of 360's for sale. Not sure if this is just a market swing because of people updating to the 430 or it if just because of the massive amount (relative to Ferrari's of course) of 360's produced.

The pre 308 stuff is pretty well documented in various books. The later cars are included in the German Serial Number book ( by Matthias Urban for sale thru Roush Publications/FML 770-381-0518) , but you would have to count each model

It's true. The 360 marked the end of the "limited" Ferrari. From 1983 to 1985 Ferrari made 3042 308 QV. Ferrari made more than 13,000 360s from mid-1999 to 2003. As for the F355 Spider, made from 95-99, only about 3700 were produced. For me, the 430 is a wel-engineered machine and a great car. But then again, the new $70k Skyline GTR is an even better engineered car! I think Ferrari lineage faded away after Enzo died and his direct involvement faded. Ferrari used to be run by one man and his single minded personality. Now Ferrari is a large corporation making corporate-style vehicles. My $0.02.

The 308-328-348-288GTO-F40 are well documented in Keith Bluemel's Original Ferrari V8 book.

FWIW, I think the surplus of 360s for sale is a combination of model cycle (it's now an old model as the F430 replacement looms next year), massive production and a soft economy. The serious money in the Ferrari world is with the vintage stuff, and on the latest models (the F149 is next up; 599 was last year; F430 was before that).

That's their fax number; the phone number is 770.381.1993.

There were 8,500 360 Modenas produced and 7,500 360 Spiders produced. A total of 16,000.

    Ferrari made 4,915 355 Berlinettas, 2,577 GTS 355s and 3,715 355 Spiders. A total of 11,207.

    Ferrari made 2,895 tb 348s, 4,230 ts 348s, 1,090 348 Spiders, 252 348 GTBs and 137 GTS 348. A total of 8,604.

    Ferrari made 3,083 550 Maranellos - the first front-mounted V12 two-seater since the 365 GTC/4 (of which they made 500).

Ferrari made 2,238 456 GTs (402 of which auto) and 1,271 456M GTs (631 of which are auto) for a total of 3,509. This is the first 2+2 Ferrari made since the 365 GT4 2+2/400/400i/412. Ferrari made 525 365 GT4 2+2s, 855 400s (354 of which are auto), 2,167 (873 of which are auto), and 884 412s (306 of which are auto). A total of 4,431 (less than a thousand more than the 456, and the 365 GT4 2+2s/400s/400is/412s were four different models).

Ferrari is definitely making more models each year and they're definitely producing more of each model.

The assumed and agreed-upon number is between 1,200 and 1,300, with about 400 in the US.
