    Great shots and nice pun.

It is still damn cold up here! Not many flowers poking through just yet.

Vineyard looks GREAT Dave! That is a very good combination you have going there, grapes, bluebonnets, and Ferrari 400! Hardly could get any better!

We are a little behind you guys here in the Austin and Hill Country but not much, they are starting to really pop here in town anyway!

    Best,

Wow, is that really outside Houston?! Beautiful. (I've only been in the city) If it looks like that maybe I should see about moving us to JSC.

Only really smart people get that Aidan.

Its life Fritz. Sometimes you have to look really hard for the beauty; sometimes the beauty is all around you and all you have to do is pay attention.
    Thanks for the compliment.

Yep it really is. You wouldn't believe how beautiful our ranch is this time of year. Just 100 miles outside of Houston and its a whole new world.
We took the annual bluebonnet tour with the local British car club this weekend (none of my British cars would start so we had to take an Italian car the club made me bring up the rear :) )
and the above and below pictures are the result. All of these are within 100 miles of downtown Houston.

(the second photo is Indian Paintbrush one of my favorite wildflowers, 3rd picture is a 1954 TR2; you'll figure out who is in the 4th photo.)

How far out of Houston do you have to get to see that kind of countryside!?

Love the TR2! That is my dream ride. With long doors of course!

    Joe,

You and Dave BOTH have TR6's! I LOVE the TR6! That is MY DREAM RIDE! Well, other than a McLaren F1 of course, but that is a whole different bird there...I could actually afford a TR6, can't imagine any world where I would be able to afford a McLaren F1...

Get down here to Texas man! It is a GREAT place to hang your hat! If you worked at JSC you would need to be South of Houston, the other way from Dave I think, but still when you start to get out of town things get really nice! Same for Austin, it is just closer to get "out of town"! ;)

I've had a TR6 since I was 16. (Not the current one that long though!) I am a Brit car guy before anything else. If I still had a big garage I'd have a 2, an 8 and a Jag E Coupe' all sitting next to the 6 and the 308! Here is my car minus her white hardtop. For options she has the USA stripe kit, hardtop, hardtop/softtop boot cover, front and rear over-riders, koni sports, aircon (now missing for the install of the blower), Lucas driving lights, luggage rack, overdrive, ski rack, luggage spider and the original style rubber floor mats. Plus all the normal modern suspension upgrades. I am still looking for that AMCO center console!

    Joe,

I am with you! I am a Brit car guy from the beginning! I grew up on TR6's, TR250, Spitfires, and the occasional MG Midget and MGB! Love'em! I need more garage space myself and would GLADLY add a TR8 (I would need to get a coupe auto trans and put it in a convertible though), E-type SIII (auto), and TR6 and my old Spitfire back, mostly because I like the way those last two look! I need a Ferrari 400 first though, and probably a 456 next, then I can start working on the Brit collection. Oh, I would LOVE a new Lotus Elise (but need all my cars w/ the auto trans, so I will have to wait till they get an SMG on line)...

    Keep the Triumph faith Joe!

A 400!?!? Man, servicing that one will leave you no money for any Brit cars! Then add a 456 into the mix...

My wife and I took the 400 out to the NJ vineyards this weekend as well. Found some good and bad wine. No sign of leaves on the vines yet here; the daffodils only came up a week or so ago. Camera would not work so no pics and it is time to do some camera shopping.

Car ran great with just a few little issues for the "to do" list.

You are probably right, but I find that most enthusiasts tend to under drive and over service their cars. At least the ones on the Porsche sites do. Find a good one and make it as nice as you can and then drive the wheels off of it and find a good trustworthy shop to do the work that REALLY needs to be done and you will have a good time in a great car. Somethings you can put off for a long time and other things you can't. Everyone says 928's are a bear to maintain, but I have 6 of them! Sure if you want them to NEVER LEAK a drop of anything it will cost you. If you just want them to run well and look good you can do better. I have one that needs a steering rack (still plenty driveable and enjoyable and it won't matter if it leaks a little or not as long as I keep it topped up) and the same is true for two others that have transmission leaks. The cost to repair is $2500 each and I can sure buy a LOT of transmission fluid and rags to clean up the garage floor for $5000! When they are shifting poorly I top them up, no biggie... Someday I will probably get them fixed, but not right now.

So, anyone with an over serviced underdriven RED 400i for $25k give me a call! ;)

    YMMV!

    Dave,

The countryside and the woman in your pictures are beautiful but the redneck in your last picture is a bit scary looking ;) :D

    Enjoy the spring driving season!

Can you ship to NJ? I think the routine is that you sell it to me in TX and I ship it to myself, with you handling all the paper work. If so, PM me.
