I'm sure tifosiron will be upset for me beating him to an autosport article, but I thought this was too interesting to pass up, plus I'm too lazy to actually post the article..

Apparently Schumacher tested for an injured Ducati test rider. He still is adamantly denying that he wants to enter into any MotoGP Championships. I don't buy it. I do believe that he won't be back in F1, but you know MotoGP is tugging on him. Besides, what have they got to lose in replacing Melandri with Schumacher for a race? All of you Massa haters.. imagine how the Duc fans feel when watching Melandri.

I've had the pleasure of attending many races where Michael has made/broken so many records over his career in F1. Only one record stands to be equalled and he's the person (if any) to do so. His interest and riding ability (despite his saying for fun only) could enable him to equal that record of John Surtees. I think I'd find myself attending MotoGP races if he ever got serious about this!

    Thanks for posting the info.

But Michael's doing it backwards. It's motorcycles, then cars. Surtees, Hailwood, Damon Hill. Who else?

I think that still puts him ahead of Melandri, yes?

Guess I wasn't too clear when I made my post about Michael and Surtees ->>> Surtees became the first person to win World Championships on motorcycles and cars, having previously won seven titles in both 350cc and 500cc.

There's no way this is anything but a fun, ego stroke for him. He can pretty much do what he wants these days and it seems like GP bikes give him a thrill.

    here's more on the testing . . .

Schumacher tests for Ducati at Mugello

Michael Schumacher returned to motorcycling action when he replaced Ducati's test rider Vittoriano Guareschi at Mugello today.

The seven-time Formula One champion, who had already tested for Ducati before, was called up by the Italian squad after Guareschi was unable to ride due to injuries following a crash on the second day of testing.

The German, who took part in a bike race at Misano last weekend, completed 42 laps on the GP8 with a best laptime in 1:58.0.

Schumacher made it clear again, however, that he has no intention to start a new career.

"It was a nice surprise yesterday when I received the sudden offer to come to Mugello today," Schumacher said. "And despite the difficult weather conditions it was again big fun to ride the Ducati.

"But I repeat it very clearly that I have no intention at all to step into any kind of MotoGP competitions."
