I have to admit I don't feel good about being critical of Massa in the support thread and I much rather have those discussions in here. But if somebody has the audacity to compare him with Gilles Villeneuve, well sorry, that's when all bets are off.

Was your "Massa WDC!!!!!" meant seriously (I doubt it) or not? Just keeping tabs on here.

Just wondering if his pole and 1st place in Bahrain make him any less sucky. If sucky is a word.

I think the guys who crucify him, along with those who sanctify him, should find a spot somewhere in the middle. He's certainly not the best driver F1 has ever seen, but he's no Scott Speed either.

Maybe we need a "Massa is sort of ok sometimes" thread.

Dave, make it the Massa Unbelieveable Thread, it can be taken two ways good or bad.

 

Great to see........ did all you "massa sucks club guys" hope he ran off the track during his cruise to victory today! Great to see Ferrari 1 & 2, I am thinking the Massa bashing will stop for a bit. Really great to see! I hope they both have a great season.

The ironic thing even if he wins the drivers championship...Massa won't drive for Ferrari next year...what do you have to do to please everyone in Italy?

 

Crow for what? He's still Rubens v2.0. He will still wins some races in the future, but not a WDC.

 

The majority "Massa bashers" just disagree FM is WDC material. Most acknowledge he is an excellent qualifier, can win races when he is in the top car and lead the entire race. His race pace is just medicore, overtaking skill is not steller, will not win any race when he is in a lesser car or not leading. All in all, FM doesn't "suck", just not WDC material, but an excellent #2. I don't see that view being change even after this race. I think the comments about "Massa will be the next WDC" is the root of all these discussion, as a lot of people don't believe he will be.

 

I wonder if today's conditions had anything to do with his performance. Very dry weather. Lots of heat. Perfect conditions for grippy tires. We'll see how it goes down in Europe when the weather cools and some rain shows up. He still won't win the WDC. Ever.

I would even expect him to win the next race too. And possibly Interlagos this year as well. Each driver has tracks where they do better than on others.

Lets talk again after Monaco and/or the first race in the rain. As well as at the end of the season.
