We have been trying that with the Podcast forum, actually that is the very top forum, but I need to develop it more.

I would like to be able to sort the members list by location. Maybe a subscribed member can do this, but I cannot. Living in smaller metro area, I personally know only one other owner in my area. If I could sort this list, I could perhaps get to know others... maybe even form a local chapter.

Location isn't a sortable column, but you might find the Advanced Search feature on Location works better.

It may be that I am not computer savvy but why do you need to refresh "Fchat" after making a post? I cannot get back to main page without refreshing the main page by going back to www.ferrarichat.com. Is it me or is this how it supposed to be?

When I post it takes me back to the thread i was posting in.

That would be great, I know I've helped some people with re-sizing.

Rob, one thing everyone is forgetting about is the 348 Challenge Grill. Can you come up with one? :)

Yes it brings me back to the page I just posted in as well. But I am stuck there. To go to another page I have to refresh the main page I simply can't just hit the back button. Maybe I am just crazy. It is not out of the realm of possibility.

At the top of the page there should be a file list like :
FerrariChat.com > General Forums > Ferrari Discussion (not model specific)

So to get back to general forums you should be able to click on it from there.

How about the ability to post videos of a maximum file size/specified file types, such as the picture posting system works. I know that videos take up more bandwidth, so I'm not sure if this would be reasonable or not to some extent.

I like to know how to search using more terms with the AND function, if I search 308 AND exhaust I get all post with 308 in it. I think default should be search for all terms like google does.
I also hate the 30 s time limit and the fact it says some words are to common in a search.

Most web forums have code for posting images hosted elsewhere, kind of like this: [IMG]

Can that be done on this forum?

Another suggestion: If you also run ferrariads.com, those could use a better search function! I know there's a keyword search, but you have to put in too many different things to get every possibility. Being able to sort by year or model would be nice. :)

For members outside the States it would be great to know what time it is in the States , while you are logged on (real time ) Not when you last logged on . I don't know if you have different time zones? But sometimes I wonder why there is no responce then realise a large percentage of Fchat is a sleep . Spellcheck would be great for guys like me .

The ability to post larger MP pics..

Better search feature----unless I am using it wrong, I never have much luck finding something I am looking for

Glitch in Ferrariads or maybe it is just me----Once I post an item for sale, I get like 20 emails saying I have posted an item for sale ---each email is the same--This happens every time I post something for sale....

Not sure if it is possible, the ability to resize pics within Fchat? Many times someone ask for a pic of something, when I go into my pics and find it--I then have to open my resize program, resize it and then come back to Fchat and upload the pic...

FOR SALE and/or TRADE SECTION within the Collectibles section.....

The Fchat calender's date is from 2005...

The ability to change font size, bold, colors, similies, etc EASILY. I know it can be done by word-- this way, but many forums have the ability right there whenever you post to change things instead of adding all the slashes, dashes, etc..

How about a Detailing subforum. There's one on the BMW 5 series site and it generates a lot of posts plus it's one of those things that most people are happy to do around their cars even if they're not mechanically adept. Other than that for me Fchat is close to benchmark for enthusiasts forums.

I think a longer window for editing threads is a good idea. I know in the past as I've re-read a thread, I see all kinds of typos in my posts. It would be good to be able to clean those up.

If a user makes the first post in a thread, and other folks reply, then he deletes his first post, does the thread go away?

I will say, more 'features' can sometimes just generate more noise. I prefer the clean look of Fchat with fewer huge avatars, spinning gifs, etc. etc.

The time interval on searches would be my #1 priority. Maybe allow subscribed users to search again with 15 seconds, but leave everyone else at 30 second intervals? That way, the people who pay for the CPU actually get to benefit from it.

Spell check, I know, you can always use Word and cut and paste but that sometimes takes too much time. I admit, I'm a poor speller.

1. a semi-advanced Search at the FerrariChat Homepage. The standard is so simplified I never use it. It would be nice if we at least had the option of searching for posts vs threads(titles) and listing results as threads or posts
2. Search that works quicker than 30 sec intervals
3. SPELL CHECK!!
4. Being able to load large picture files and FerrariChat managing size for us (Ebay now does this)
5. List of vendors, repair shops and anyone else that advertises or is a member of Fchat that can offer services to our cars.

Overall, it is a great site that I use often. You've done a great job!
