    Poor wording on my part:

I'd like to delete/hide/ignore the obvious troll/shield/master-of-the-universe threads.

I have a personal problem with not rising to the bait.

More moderation, imo, I just don't get why some threads exist in the first place.

+1 Often times the results of a search are too broad. The boolean AND would be ever so useful.

    What happened to vBGarage?

A year ago I discovered this unused area of the site and raised a question, now it appears that it has simply been deleted.

Not what I was hoping for.

Give threads a time period or life span. For example, most of the threads in the Canada section are simply OT.

no, the idea is that FerrariChat.com will be around forever and is much a current discussion as an archive of information and pictures for the future. IMG tag links go bad (the red x) often within a few months, most within a year, and definitely within 10 years most will go bad and those images won't be available. I will keep buying more space, that's my job to spend the sponsor and subscription money on. The goal is to have all images available forever and that should happen because we're not dependent on anyone else.

Correct, you can set to any timezone under User Controls - Edit Options. Once you set the timezone you wish, then there isn't a display of any others. Might I suggest you set your timezone setting to US Eastern, you will of course know what time it is from your watch, but then at least all posts will show the US Eastern time.

I think that after a certain period of time, the extraneous "nice car", "wow", "way to go" comments should be removed from threads leaving just the meat of the issue or technical advise.

It takes too long, even when you find a relevent thread via the search to weed thru the non-essential, gratutious commentary.

I am not sure what the exact schedule is, but several times on a Sunday night (as I recall) FCHAT was down for scheduled maintenance. That is a time when alot of users are logged it, I would assume.

Maintenance should be done well after hours based on your largest and most active population.,

You can use ispell on the posts which works, but it would be a lot better if it were incorporated into the site. I'd like to see a lot less teenagers on the site, but I do understand that clicks mean revenue, so that is probably a difficult decision. Maybe have a special limited access to the site by teenagers, etc.

I've had someone else report this only this week. Happening to everyone and how long has it been doing it? Definitely an annoying bug.

I plan to integrate the ads into the forums better instead of being separate, Collectibles will have an ad section within the forum.

I would hope that you would still allow the ads to be as they are, in addition to integrating them. I suspect that a lot of people, me included, like to review the ads to see what is available.

You would be OK with consequences of less rules? The effect would be more spam and flame wars, if you are OK with that?

ahh, actually an idea I've never heard before, you can currently ignore certain users and you can collapse sections of FerrariChat.com so you don't see the sub-forums and tempted by the recent thread display, but the ability to 'ignore' threads would be great. thanks.

Any vBGarage threads would still be around, maybe the search engine isn't working well? :D Seriously, I played around with vBGarage a little and never announced it to public, I recently found another similar system that would expand our profiles, but the overall opinion of mods wasn't in favor. Here's an example of what we could do with each user's profile...

OT to Canada or OT to Ferrari? Regional areas can have OT threads to Ferrari.

Sunday's are the least active day. We do small backups that bring down the site for 5 minutes or so about 4am US Central each day. A larger backup 4am Sunday mornings which is the least active time all week. About once a month usually on Sunday nights I restart the server and clean house a little, takes about 15-20 minutes.
