    +1.

Notice how Kimi pushed him home today ... when the tables are turned Massa is nowhere.

Of course. It's our first opportunity bask in the sun. And you didn't think that we would celebrate at your expense? Afterall, we had to remain somewhat humble after the first two races...lol. I still believe that the Renault doesn't have the beans and Massa will only have to be on for half the races. Hell, it appears he may only have to be on for a third of the races.

How can you say that? If it weren't for Massa, Kimi would have not won the championship last year.

If it weren't for LH starting infighting in the McLaren team Kimi would'nt have won either ...

More like strangled by the FIA and Ron Dennis so that McLaren wouldn't get kicked out, I tend not to question the end of last season because I'm rather happy with the outcome but it is sorta convenient that Raikkonen came from 17/18 points down to win.

Kimi won the championship because Massa gave him the race.

That result wasn't Massa's choice, that was pure orchestrated team orders. And had Lewis not driven beyond his tires & subsequently put the car in the gravel trap in that previous race or had he finished higher in the points in Brazil, it wouldn't have been Kimi. It was Lewis' to lose, and he lost it on his own.

Ditto. But Kimi is a realist; even he admitted to being surprised to be WDC because it was a long shot. It was a movie ending.

    I expected it :D

Massa drove a respectable race, albeit he didn't have to pass anyone ;) Kimi played it safe and Hamilton had the worst race of his career. The stars were aligned for Massa. I expected to take some crap from some folks and that's fine with me. It's a long season and I have a good memory :p

Props really should go to Kimi. He drove hard, but was not going to risk his points paying position by over driving the car and taking unnecessary risks. No need to with Hami flogging his meat at the back. Smart racer. I still say the jury is out on Hami. He had the benefit of Fernie's experience last year, including the race setup. Now he's on his own.

The race setup was courtacy of Ferrari and Delarosa. As you can see the Renault is worse than last year and if it makes not even the slightest improvement this year then one would have to wonder why. If you remember back in 96 MS jumped into a bucket of bolts and still won races yet Alonso dosnt even come close. I think this year will show what Alonso is NOT made of. Like I said before he barely won 1 wdc when MS blew up his engine but the year before he was gifted by the tire rule and I think everyone knows that.

All relative and only Alonso, Renault, MS and Ferrari really know how bad or good their cars were. There is no doubt that the Renault is a piece of **** this year, but there is no doubt that Alonso knows how to win races and to make poor cars look better than they are (think Minardi).

As they say F1 is IF backwards ...

I don't think the situations are comparable. Ferrari won GPs in 1995, Renault did not in 2006. Schumacher had a hand in Ferrari's success in 1996 but so did Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne. Alonso took a second rate Renault team in 2003 and 2004 and turned them into world champions in 2005 and 2006. That is simply not debateable.

And if Alonso was gifted by the tire rule in 2005, does that mean that Schumacher was gifted in 2000 to 2004?!? The Bridgestones were designed completely around the Ferrari whereas Michelin had to divide resources among several top teams. The Bridgestones were clearly a superior tire during that time and to argue that Ferrari was not the beneficiary of being the sole top teamin the Bridgestone camp defies logic. That knife cuts both ways.

As far as Renault being worse than last year, how many times did Renault make it to the 3rd session in qualifying last year? I agree that the car sucks but Alonso is putting the car where it shouldn't be.

You don't have to like the guy but his talent is undeniable.

The good drivers in bad cars have shown stuff in the past but alonso is showing nothing. It is his way of sulking and before long we will be hearing about it from someone in the know.
