Those who may not know, Senna3WC and I have a little bet going. Ted proposed that Massa wouldn't win 4 races this season, and felt so strongly that he put up 10 large ones. I disagreed, and put up 10k myself. With 15 races left, and one down and three to go, it looks like I will be collecting 10k from him. That is unless he runs away from it and doesn't own up. The reason I took his bet is because I felt I was looking at the situation logically, and recognized not only Massa's ability, but more importantly the FERRARI'S ability.

Holy ****. That's how men do things.

At this point in the season, I tend to think Massa will win 4 races. The Ferrari is blisteringly fast and Kimi has not proven that he can beat Massa dominantly enough to prevent Massa from winning races.

Massa will give Kimi a run for his money as usual, however, they work so well together that it would be stupid of Ferrari to break that set up with Alonso or anyone else... If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

I am hardly worried. Massa will be lucky to see out the season, let alone win another GP.

Kimi should have won this race, I thought he was the better driver this weekend but Ferrari held him up so that Felipe would look better. Kimi was running off fast lap after fast lap and almost caught up to Massa in the end. Still the chances of Felipe being at Ferrari after 3 races are slim, the chances of 3 more victories are non-existent.

You don't really mean that do you? How do you explain practice & qualifying? Fastest lap?

In no way should Kimi have won this race. Handily outqualified with similar fuel loads. Never really getting within 3 seconds of Massa. Massa won this with his own speed.

Its really fishy that Kimi got more fuel on his stop, yet was out shorter (5 laps) than he should have been. I also think Kimi was told to hold off and not to pressure Massa too much.
Massa had a good race, but I thought Kimi's was better.

As much as I hate to admit it, you do raise a valid point. At the end of the day all I truly care to see is a 1-2 in no particular order.

IMO, we don't know if kimi and Massa were on similar fuel loads. Kimi's stop apears to have been early...even the SPEED guys mentioned it several times saying it did not make sense. Plus, Kimi was held up in the pits for...ahem..."strange lights in his cockpit", or something to that effect. Kimi also mentioned his car was not performing very well the whole weekend. Yet he was still able to move up two positions and keep comfortably close to Massa while Massa was in arguably the perfect fastest car of the weekend.

IMO, today we found out what a true team player Kimi is. ;)

Apparently you were not watching the race broadcast. Kimi admitted in the post race interview not only that his car was fine, he could not catch up to Massa and so he just cruised after his second pit stop. Massa was on fire. Pay attention next time.

You are on the wrong team guy.

I thought 10 LARGE was $10 million. You can't even buy a 250 GTO with that. Ted's good for a measly 10 thou. He'll never miss it.

    BTW Kimi WDC 2008

    FORZA FERRARI

I hope Phil wins all the races except the ones that Kimi wins. LOL

Please, I would love to hear a logical explanation behind your comment. Kimi could not catch up, so please, explain.

Plus, he obviously watched a very different race to the rest of us.

Plus, he obviously didn't watch the post race interviews.

You need not worry, Ted's word about money and a bet are as good as gold. He will follow through.

It's his word about Massa, Hamilton, etc, that are about as valueable as cow manure in Texas.

I'm definitely happy that Ferrari went 1-2 (I'd prefer Kimi in front, but I won't complain). I found the entire weekend rather odd for Ferrari, almost as if Felipe was being given preferential treatment.

IMO Here's how it goes, Massa goes light in quali and Kimi's heavy because Ferrari know that Kimi can block the people behind and Felipe is fine as long as he is in front. After the first lap, with Felipe in 2nd and Kimi in 3rd, Kimi holds up the people behind opening up a gap for Massa because Ferrari know that Kubica is light on fuel. Fast foward to the pitstops, Kimi comes in first (despite being in second, and probably having more fuel) while Felipe is allowed to build a bigger lead without any pressure from Kimi. Kimi recieves more fuel than Felipe timewise. Just before the 2nd pitstops Kimi is f***in flyin' despite having more fuel, and catching up very fast to Felipe. Kimi gets pulled in for his second pit stop 5 laps early (according to SPEED estimates) despite setting and resetting fast lap. Felipe comes in gets fuel, and coasts to the finish. Though Kimi cut the lead by over 2 seconds in the closing laps.

Either Ferrari botched Kimi's first stop or they pulled him in way early (while he was flying). I really don't mind because Kimi is #1 in WDC but as we all know 2 points count in the championship.
I'm not bashing Massa either, he ran a good race (despite having very little pressure from anyone) and got a win.
