I am now getting almost 200 spam emails per DAY on my primary email account and it is really getting to bug me. Outlook was only picking up about 15% of them and putting them in a junk folder. That was even after creating a ton of manual rules for the filtering.

I just made the switch to Mozilla Firebird in order to see if it would be any more effective than Outlook Express.

I also have Kaspersky Internet Security but I disabled the anti-spam function because it really wasn't working at all.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

Agreed, its just that my primary email is my business website

    Ex. [email protected]

It seems like over time my address is only going to attract more and more spam. Such a pain...

    Ha!!!!

    Seriously,

The built in one on my Mac is down right amazing. They had an update this past year and now it nukes over 99% of my spam these days.

Wow, that sounds fantastic! I wonder why it is so bad on the PC.

I use Spambays. It takes a little teaching, but it now picks up about 90% of the spam directly and shoots another 8% into a "suspects" folder.

+1, it is a wee bit over aggressive sometimes though.

My gmail does put some things into the spam folder that I don't want there but I usually have a good idea of which it is going to throw in there.

With all the fixes, you're still gonna get all the crap in a spam folder. Instead of screening ****loads of nuisance calls, just change "your number" and boot it out of your life like a bad ex-girlfriend or ex-wife, man.

    Step one:
Change your main email nic to... somethingelse @ suarezcapital

    Step two:
    Notify actual contacts of change.

    Step three:
Rejoice in lack of SPAM to primary e-addy already!

    Step four:
Redirect e-mails from actual contacts still contacting you at old e-addy to... somethingelse @ suarezcapital. Remind them of step two.

    Step five:
Rejoice in lack of SPAM to primary e-addy already!

    Step six:
Change e-mail settings on web page.

    Step seven:
Rejoice in lack of SPAM to primary e-addy already!

    Step eight:
Others'll have more advice regarding SPAM filters.
