I saw 6 cops on a 10 minute ride home from school.
Great weather brings out great cars: at around 4pm today I saw two Lamborghini Gallardos at Lenox Mall: a yellow one and an orange one on temporary plates. Both had European-style front license plate that read 'J BILLION'. Additionally, there was a silver Lamborghini Gallardo at the Intercontinental around the same time. Also caught a blue BMW Z8 on 'Animal Friendly' plates at Peachtree and West Paces at around 4:15pm. Rarest of all was a ~5pm sighting of a Volkswagen Phaeton W12 on 'Support Wildlife' plates at Oxford Road and North Decatur, near Emory. Only a few hundred of those ever made it to the States.
Cool spots. I wonder why J-Billion was here. They are two rappers so it's probably each of theirs. Any more shots of the Phaeton?
No - I see them frequently enough so that I don't take photos, but I wanted to get a shot of the badges on this one to show that it was indeed the super-rare twelve-cylinder version.
Saw a very cool BMW Z4 M Coupe today parked on the side of the road in a fairly rough part of town. It's not super exotic but I see Phantoms and Gallardos a good bit more often than I do M Coupes so I thought it was worth a mention.
Asford Dunwoody. There were 2 of them at a laundramat to catch people turning on red. And the other 4 were just patrolling.
Sorry i had too ^ Some sightings last two days... black gallardo spider yellow gallardo silver murcielago roadster with aftermarket wheels, nice! a few phantoms black f430 red f430 spider also 2 maybach's parked beside each other infront of my hotel!! and a hot blond driving a red 360 spider great cars here in Atlanta
This evening I attended a gathering at the ESPN Zone in Buckhead that was presented by the Skip Barber schools at Road Atlanta; Bob Varsha was the guest speaker. On my way out, there were 2 black Italian cars parked in the lot, a Quattroporte and a 599.
Anywhere in Buckhead after midnight; anyone doing anything suspect is fair game. As mentioned I got pulled over for flashing my lights at a guy whose brights were on. I've seen them sitting lights-off on Piedmont, Peachtree, and Roswell. It's mostly HEAT (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) doing DUI stops, but they'll run your for speeding just to see if you're drunk. Be careful!
Hey Doug, I have a question. Is there any way that I could look at your car pictures from Atlanta at the same time? I know you have a Photobucket account but your account is private so I can't see all of the pictures at once. Thanks.
The only way I could do that would be to set the account as public, but I've had some image theft issues in the past, which is why it's private. Let me know if there's anything specifically you want to see... otherwise, I might try to compile something some time in the near future. A few good cars out this afternoon: at around 3:30pm, I caught a black Ferrari F355 on Morehouse plates in 'normal' parking at Lenox Mall; a few minutes later I caught a black Maybach 57S on Florida plates at Aquaknox valet. There was also a decent lineup at the Intercontinental, with their Phantom, a Bentley Continental GTC on New York plates, and a silver Lamborghini Gallardo. Lastly, at around 4:45pm, I saw a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo pulling up to Lenox Mall's valet.
I'd love to see all your pictures from Atlanta of cars. I could always go back in the thread but there is always some stuff that I'd miss and it takes a while to do that. I'm sure I woulden't be the only one looking at the pics though. Thanks.
I spotted a black Lamborghini Superlegerra on the road in front of Lenox mall. It sounded like a race car with its down shifts. In fact I heard his progress right to the valet portion of the mall while waiting at the traffic signal it was that profound. Also observed a dark blue Maserati Granturismo with GA tags driving in front of the Bruster's ice cream store. A red Ferrari F430 (red used car dealer tags ) spider with challenge wheels parked in front of the Ritz Carlton hotel. A dark blue Lamborghini Gallardo roadster in front of Chris Ruth off of Peachtree. A Jaguar XF also on Peachtree, a good looking automobile -the first one I have viewed on the road. A silver Ford GT40 parked in the valet of the Westin hotel. And finally a white Flying Spur at Houston's. And to add to tonights pot - 2 NSX's ( 1 red & 1 blk. ), 4 Bentley GTC's, 2 Bentley GT's, & 2 Quattroporte's.
Tonight was one of the more beautiful nights I've ever experienced, cars aside. My temperature gauge was reading 79F when I left to go see some cars at 6:30pm. We don't get nights like that in Colorado, especially in April! I saw quite a few good cars - oddly one "good one" per manufacturer and no more! Each was seen between 6:30pm and 7:45pm: - Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at BluePointe's valet; Florida plates. - first sighting of a Bentley Continental GT Speed on Peachtree approaching Piedmont; Florida plates. - Dodge Viper RT/10 on Peachtree between Piedmont and Lenox Road. - Ferrari F430 Spider in valet at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead; dealer plates. - Ford GT in valet at the Westin Buckhead. - Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera at Lenox Mall valet; he later moved over to Phipps. - Maserati GranTurismo on Peachtree at Wieuca. Also of interest was my first sighting of a Pontiac G8, around 7pm at Lenox Mall's valet. Here's a front photo. I didn't go to the trouble of getting the best photos because we'll soon be seeing them everywhere, but I just wanted to let people know they're out and about! By the way, CavalloRosso... how was dinner? I'm still trying to figure out what the hell they did with your car after you dropped it off, because I came back to get a photo thirty seconds after the valet got in it, and it was gone!
Past 24 hours at my hotel: million bentley's silver gallardo black maybach black 599gtb with challenge rims red f430 with challenge rims also a white phantom with 26'z , looked pretty cool but not my style. other: grey superleggera red 360 modena black 360 spider dark blue phantom yellow 360 with spoiler and black wheels, sounded crazy.
That GT Speed belongs to one of my close friends that works right around the corner from where you took that shot.
Tell him it's a gorgeous car - I immediately noticed it was the GT Speed because it looks a lot more muscular than the regular Continental GT. A few decent sightings around 3pm this afternoon: a nice lineup at the Intercontinental featuring a Maybach 62S and that silver Lamborghini Gallardo that seems like it's moved in there; also a black Dodge Viper SRT-10 on Florida plates at a parking lot near Lenox Mall, and, by far the best sighting of all, a red Ferrari 308 GTB going north on Piedmont between Lenox Road and Roswell Road. The owner and wife waved to me and appeared to be all smiles - if they're on F-chat, the car was gorgeous!
Hahaha!!! That's funny....I'm being watched! You're telling me about the valet, I was a little worried especially when the girl at the bar said "ah man, that's like the Ferris Bueller car!" They did disappear with it. I guess they parked it in the garage! I have to admit it was surprising especially since I left the top down on the car. I don't really care, but I was surprised especially since they didn't really have any exotics parked out there. Dinner was pretty good. Aquaknox has a little too much neon in there for my taste but I had a colleague in town from Chicago and I wanted to try out a new restaurant. The food was quite nice and honestly, not as expensive as I had anticipated.
Ferris Bueller car indeed - that's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the valet sitting it. Man, did he look smug... and who can blame him?! Good to hear. Aquaknox looks so cool from the street, I'm excited to go try it out - especially if it's not stratospherically expensive. Nothing like showing a colleague a good time with a new restaurant and a Ferrari.
