If you drive both, the decision will be incredibly easy, The F430 is WAY more car, better built, better quality, better value, no comparison really. But, if you want to save some money and have it depreciate faster, go with the Audi Gallardo

Drive them both and see which one works for you. The Gallardo is an excellent car as well. The idea that the 430 is better built than any car Audi is involved with is laughable.

as a new car I would take the scuderia or wait for 430 successor, imo the new gallardo LP560 is probably the better car as the 430 but its a lamborghini and thats a different story anyway

Mr. Hockey/Hanson, I must disagree, having owned a VW ... uh ... Audi RS4 for a mere 5 months (5 weeks of which were spent in the shop, thus why I no longer own it) and having had to endure endless descriptions from others who had dismal Audi ownership experiences.

Mass, robot produced does Not equal a better quality build. I will take the passionate, handyword of Ferrari anytime, anywhere.

It doesn't matter if you agree with me or not. Audi is considered the standard for build quality in the auto industry and other brands will tell you they use audi interiors as their quality goal. Ferrari's are now made in an ultra modern factory with much of the assembly robotized.

Both of the F430 & Gallardo are great cars. I own a F430 and drove my friend's 08 Gallardo Spyder at different occasions. It's awesome and very exciting. If compared to F430, I really don't see any shot coming of Gallardo. It's just your personal preference in terms of choosing one between these two fantastic cars.

IMO, these cars are completely different. first of all they are about $75k price difference. second, the styling is way different. i can see how you are having a hard time deciding. I have always been a Ferrari guy, but for some reason, the G really appeals to me. I have been deciding what to get next, a 360 Spider or a G. (I'm leaning toward the 360 :) )

I own both the F430 and Gallardo. I would have to agree with most of the replies, the F430 is the better car.

For the money though, an early model Gallardo is one great car for the money IMO. It is hard to justify spending $50m-$70m more for the F430 over the Gallardo. If I was pinching pennies I would go for the Gallardo. The Gallardo's performance is close to the F430.

It actually cost me less to maintain the Gallardo than the F430. Last services both done by Lambo and Ferrari dealers: Gallardo $500 vs. F430 $1,000.

I love both of the cars. I have had no problems with either of them.

Good luck. It's a difficult choice.

Make life easy on yourself... buy one of each!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go on the Nat. Geo. channel and tape Ultimate Factories: Ferrari, this will give you a good understanding of what goes on inside the factory.

Most of the build is done by hand. That is the reason a Ferrari can travel 20,000 miles through South America. With no mechanical problems.

    Buy the F430.

I've seen the show and I guess you saw it differently. Hand built Italian is why the windshield wipers come on when you push the air conditioner button in old Ferraris and Lambos. It's great for leather work, not so great for mechanical things.

If you buy the Lambo you will have to answer questions like "is that a Ferrari" and why didn't you get a Ferrari. :) When Audi sells Lambo, what will you do then?

More than twice was my Gallardo confused for an Enzo!!!

The 360 was called a Corvette many times and a few "Is that a mustang?"

My NSX was confused for a Ferrari many times.

The R22 helicopter I used to fly some people asked if it had a old VW bug engine!

Driving Ferraris I get the constant "you couldn't afford a Lamborghini", "Lamborghinis are so much better looking and faster" comments.

Some people are just way ignorant, their thinking is full of ****.

Slapshot is the movie (Paul Newman, etc.) and that is one of the three Hanson Brothers - great movie -

As for the earlier note, most of the Ferrari build is done by hand - I like it that way - passion from every corner - even that little paint imperfection now and again lets you know of the hands-on work. And, more to the point, I am not a fan of AWD in my cars - too planted a feel - Didn't like it in my Porsche TT; don't like it in the Gallardo; I love to have a car that is a bit tossable rather than more mechanically planted. Alive rather than sublime......
