You're missing the point - no offense is intended. It's just REALLY unusual
to have a first post about a 'salvage Enzo' - one of the rarest and most
expensive cars on the road. Only a HANDFUL have been wrecked...

Given that GOOD ones go for not too much north of ONE MILLION dollars,
it's just really odd to have a post about a salvage version.

    We're not sexist - just skeptical 'car-ists'

Since they are no longer producing Enzos ( SN problems ) a rebuilt factory Enzo makes sense.
Jack up radiator cap, lower onto new chassis, Transfer VIN tags and Bingo; rebuilt ENZO.
I cannot see the factory or anyone "Rebuilding" a cracked CF tub. Too much liability.

FYI. The car is a new car from Ferrari. They even provided a new engine and gearbox instead of rebuiding the provided units. Basically, you have a new car with an old VIN.

Yup, it's on a Salvage Title. Yup, that can be fixed as well. At least in California where I live it can be fixed. Dealers do this all the time.

The one odd thing is that they are going to "spin up" the odometer to match what was on the car when it came in. In California, they would prefer you didn't do that, but install a new speedometer/odometer at zero and document at what mileage this happened.

So, you get a new Enzo, but (I believe, although it is unkown at this time) with no warranty.

    I'm guessing a $250K - $300K deduction from current retail.

Of course, you're wondering what happened to the original engine and gearbox, no? Me too.

The car is worthless in my book, if im gonna buy a salvage vehicle, its gonna be for track or parts.
the price the salvage yards pay is 25-34 percent of the vehicles KBB,why pay only a small price of
discount. When the person who bought it after the wreck got it for cheep.

For 1.2 -1,4m , you can get a only built once Enzo.

Although it sounds like they dont rebuild but actually build a new one , so you end up buying a new car ...

I know this is slightly off topic, but why not just go for a used, non-wrecked Enzo, with a clear title? If you're already spending a hike north of one million, why not change a couple digits and get a nice, used one?

I have bought and sold over a 100 cars in the state of California and I would like to know how you can shed a "Salvage Title" in this state? I have also worked for over a dozen dealers who have not any success in shedding this stigma on these labeled vehicles. Educate me...Seriously.

The important thing is to determine if the rebuild was really done by the factory. If it was and the car hasn't been abused since it should trade imo at $1.1.

Thanks to all who wrote helpful, constructive responses. Can someone assure me that the 2 posters who wrote responses worthy of my 10 year old special needs neighbor will not be who we'll be meeting if we join the Ferrari community? Clearly their wealth is inherited, but ususually these families get their kids good psychiatric help when the problems first emerge.

Some of us may be wondering just a couple of things -

    a) - why an Enzo? i.e. - where did you hear about this car?

    b) - if you are going for a penny, why not a pound? i.e. - what is the point of a salvage rebuild in this price range?

    respectfully,

    Y.F. James

BTW - did you also consider a McLaren F1?

One thing to keep in mind is the level of experience you Husband has. Enzo's are great but several have had to go back to the Factory for a total rebuild and two have killed themselves in them.

The key is that before disabling ABS, putting it into race, and standing on it in the rain he should slowly learn what the car is about.

If it's recently from the factory recalls have probably been done but make sure they have. Also before planting the throttle make sure you're heading straight.

An F1 is totally different than an Enzo.

A Factory rebuilt one isn't a bad idea as with a wrecked Enzo they basically drive a new car under the VIN plate and will paint/trim to suit.

Are the factory rebuilt cars sold by the factory, or from a dealer, or who?

Right you are - and I guess you put it better than I did on the experience thing.

When I learned to fly about 40 years ago, there were a number of sad stories from Doctors and Bankers who transitioned to a V-Tail Bonanza a little too quickly.

And from truly great Apple computer designer Wozniac.
