I think I started it. Let's ask Daniel. Does a system like this show up in any of your 348 parts books, Dan?

I'm just confused due to the fact that it is properly displayed and labeled in the owners manual.

Any other 1995 348 Spider owners care to chime in?!

Looks identical to the system in my friends late, late Spider, here in North Carolina. (DC, I know you lurk.... care to post?)

In fact, the first time I saw it, we compared it to my 1990ts, and I said to him "Yo David, what is all this crap?! You got more pipes back here than a crack house downtown."

It's a great thing for passing emissions inspections, but the freaky part is that Ferrari added that air pump to only some late 1995 348's, the last year of production.

You've got a 348 with an active air injection; most of the rest of us have passive air injections. Just a bit surprising, that's all.

Because I owned that same car (basically) and didn't have this part, and haven't seen it on any 348.

    Not bad, just a surprise!

I'm pretty sure my 95 Spider has that exact plumbing because i remember wiping them down last time i cleaned it. I'll take some pics when i get home tonight and post them tommorrow morning.

oh, i believe that set up adds 100-110 extra horses right? :p

Yes, an electric airpump turns on for a couple of minutes to inject air into the headers, to help the cats light up quicker for reduced cold start emissions. Essentially just like every 355.

Pretty good , but not as good as my 348 did , i owned that car for about a year with pretty much no issues, i recognized it from that " T" pipe i put in there when it busted during a cold start in the middle of winter. just never had a chance to replace it.

The alternator has been re-built and up-sized. Other than that, She's been a dream :) Oh... except for the slight grease blowout that the flywheel had! It's fine, though. Re-building it this weekend!

Ah, thanks. So no real harm to the engine if disconnected, just for EPA.
