Try to exclude the car. Top to bottom. Quit when you want. IE top 5 or 10 I take into consideration; Pure raw talent. Physical and mental condition. " Racecraft " Experience, overall racing time and track knowledge Set up and development ability Ambition; You don't have to want it, you have to NEED it. My choices; 9.9 Alonso (regrettably the best driver on the grid ) 9.8 KIMI; lacks some ambition 9.75 Hamilton; He will improve with experience 9.7 Nico; for the love of god, someone find him a car 9.6 Kubica, Heidfeld, Heikki 9.4 Truli (Good qualifier) Button, Vettel 9.3 Massa; when your hot your hot, when your not your not. 9.1 Barrachello, Fisi, DC 9s and below Sato, Davidson, Glock Sutil, Bordais, Piquet, and Nakajimi; Not enough info I'm not expecting much from Piquet
1. Kimi 2. Alonzo 3. Heidfeld 4. Hamilton (and 90% of this is because of the car. In similar equipment, he would be 6th or worse). 5. Kubica 6. Massa (I know, you guys think he sucks, but he has performed well compared to everyone else.) 7. Kovalo 8 Trulli (He has had very bad cars, but he has balls.) 9 Weber -- a lot of promise, and seems like a nice guy 10. Rubens -- but he has no balls. 11. Everybody else sucks. Jensen is overrated. DC has no balls, but is quote about 3 colors of **** is still a classic. Nico is a pretty boy. Bourdais may surprise you.
Before I would have put Kimi on top, but this year watching Fred in that Renault, he shows incredible talent. So I will give them a tie. 1/2) Kimi & Fred (although neither is good at development, they are just coldly fast) 3) Massa (yes, when he is hot, he is VERY VERY hot, but then Hamilton makes just as many mistakes, but Phil is good at development ) 4/5/6) Heikki/Nico/Lewis ( I'm still not convinced Lewis is any better, he's made too many serious mistakes. I'm thinking that Hekki will be the best of these 3 and at Ferrari someday) 7) Kubica ( probably should be ranked at least as good as the three above and maybe shoudl go into second place by end of the year) 8) Heidfeld (originally I would have put him in the group with Heikki, but he has been just a little lackluster last two races, although his fuel strategy could be the problem) 9) Trulli (was really fast, I think being at Toyota might have taken away his desire) 10) Coultard/Button/Vettel(DC has the ability and the knowledge, Button may have become complacent, Vettel is a might be someday) All of these guys make mistakes, so I am not goinig to judge them by that. Right now, of all of these drivers Hamilton has made the most serious of all mistakes costing him the WDC)
1. Nico Rosberg. Can drive a car when its bad. The smartest driver out there. 2. Kimi: Sucks when the car is bad, cannot drive it. But is untouchable when the car is perfect. 3. Kubica: Focused and a hard worker. Very confident. 4. Alonso: Needs to be a team player. 5. Heikki, Massa and Hamilton. But Heikki at the moment is the best out the three. 6. Heidfeld: Lacks Confidence, but can be great. 7. Trulli: Good qualifier and thats it. 8. Webber: Just complains too much, like Villuneuve did. 9. Button, Fisichella and Barrichello.
Well this thread is shaping up to be the biggest turd pulled outta someone's ass in a while. I will say though, that Rosberg seems to get quite a bit of praise, for outperforming guys like Wurz and Nakajima...not exactly Alonso caliber are they?
1) Alonso 2) Kimi 3) Hamilton 4) Vettel 5) Rosberg 6) the rest We did this recently and there I had Hami at the top, but his serious blunders recently made me wonder what's going on with the guy. Hopefully only a temporary problem.
Kimi Kubica Alonso Hamilton Rosberg Heidfeld Vettel Massa I'd have Vettel higher, but until he can complete the first lap of a race, I'm undecided.
I hear ya. Although we have to give both drivers credit right now as development on the current car has completely stopped. They're waiting for the new car to debut in Istanbul.
I'm thinking that would be the " Hey everyone, I just bet $10,000 and I'm here to tell the world " thread. That one looked like a brown beached whale.
Kimi Hamilton Massa (I would give him 2nd if he could stay pissed off and race hard like he did this last race) Kubica Heidfeld Vettel
Yup, easily forgotten, & slaughtered by Hamilton when they did Karts & GP2 etc. Nico is over-rated in this forum. On raw talent, sheer speed, I'd go with....errr....ummm.... 1. Raikkonen 2. Alonso 3. Kubica 4. Hamilton 4. Trulli 5. Massa 6. Heidfeld 7. Button 8. Kovalainen 9. Fisichella 10.Webber.
1) Kimi or Alonso - I can't descide between the two. 3) Kubica - working wonders with a slower car 4) Hekki - Looking consisent so far, more so than his highly touted teammate 5) Hamilton - A bit overrated, a couple of major mistake make me wonder if his motivation and focus has slipped 6) Vettel, Bourdais, Nico - all about even until proven otherwise. I'm still not as impressed by Nico as everyone else, time will tell. Bourdais has been looking good in his first year.
I dont think Nico ever raced Hami in GP2 When Nico did race there he mopped the field. They had 2 race weekends. Winner of first race started 10th in second race. He won several of those as well if memory serves. This in equal, FAST cars. Not formula fords. Webber ? I keep looking at the roster but dont see his name at Williams. Frank aint no dummy. Nico IS the real deal.
+1 PS: Never understood the fascination with Webber. He is not even a has-been like DC. He's a never-was.
Nico was GP2 champion the year before hamilton. They were teamates in karting, the following is from Wikipedia: Lewis Hamilton continued his progress in the Intercontinental A (1999), Formula A (2000) and Formula Super A (2001) ranks, and became European Champion in 2000 with maximum points. In Formula A and Formula Super A, racing for TeamMBM.com, his team mate was Nico Rosberg, who would later drive for the Williams team in Formula One.
All cars being equal, I would have to say... 1. Kimi and Alonso. Both are so talented, can't say who is better. Without mehcanical failure, Kimi would have had one of Alonso's titles. 3. Hamilton. But not the second coming as many have labeled. 4. Kubica. Great driver and is showing his talent. 5. Massa. Maybe it's the car, maybe not, but the kid wins and scores points I can't throw Vettel in there yet because I think you have to get past the first lap. But I'm sure he will eventually be fantastic. and I think Rosberg will be a driver of the future as well. I'd like to throw Jenson in there, but my argument for him in a better car is getting stale.
My Ranking: 1. Alonso 2. Kimi 3. Hamilton 4. Kubicka 5. Heidfeld 6. Button 7. Rosberg 8. Trulli 9. Kovalannein 10. Barrichello 11. Vettel 12. Webber 13. Fisichella 14. Massa 15. DC 16. Bourdais 17. Davidson 18. Sato 19. Nakajima 20. Glock 21. Sutil 22. Piquet Jr.
