Zagato planned to convert five 575s into a 575 GTZ. We all know the first one was commissioned by Yushiyuki Hayashi. This was the two-tone silver/grey car with tan interior. Later I found pictures of a very nice black GTZ with green interior. These two have exactly the same body style, but later there were two more GTZs spotted with some changes. See the pics below and try to spot the differences. There now are pictures of four different GTZs, but an eye witness told me there was a fifth car painted in white. Has anyone spotted this car yet and are the different VINs known to anyone? The differences in detail: - Lines around side windows and rear window do not intersect on two cars. - One has a black radiator instead of a bright alu mesh. - Air vent in front of the front wheel is missing on two cars. - Differences in tail light. This all is very interesting and now I wonder how the fifth 575 GTZ will look like. I really like this Zagato 575. I prefer the intersecting windows. Not sure which vent I prefer. I have wondered why wheels were not designed custom for the coachwork? Perhaps Zagato does not have the capability to fabricate wheels? Perhaps they aren't concerned with the wheels?
WOW! That is NOT pretty! Give me a stock 575 or 599, or heck, just about ANY other recent F-car (say from the last 25ish years) over this thing ANY DAY! Not my cup of tea! James Austin, TX
That totally doesn't matter, because all five are sold anyway. The lucky owners really don't care, because all that counts is that they are happy with their own unique Zagato Ferrari. All the others can buy the stock 575 or 599. Pretty or not, that has been discussed before in multiple threads.
Do you have the S/Ns' for the cars you are aware of and if so would you be willing to share them? Thanks Michiel, Alex
I read that Zagato only wanted to built a maximum of 5 cars! So I don't know if they actually build those 5... Maybe there are just 4. Originally it was planned to convert only two cars for Hayashi, one for driving and one for admireing! I also heard that he got very upset as Zagato annouced that they would bulit more than two...
That's what I suspect, yes. It has something to do with a certain yellow badge, restrictions, warranty issues, etc...
The two-tone grey Yushiyuki Hayashi car is #127394. The darker two-tone grey with some different body treatments from Emilio Gnuti is #127928. The black one is #134936. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 5th car was built for a very important Mexican collector, the car is painted dark blue with dark tan interior, it has many special unique features different from the other 4 cars, the interior has more custom touches. Sooner or later it will be spotted, I think it will be featured in a magazine soon.
Here is a thread with lots of pics of the 575 GTZ http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=180853&highlight=575+gtz
They all have the filler cap on the right rear fender. In one of the pics above illustrating the differences the image is mirrored to make comparison of the window lines more clear.
Thanks! So the white one does exist! Now we need to find out if this is the #5. May there be more than five if we take the possible blue Mexican version into account?
This car seems to have the same design as #127928 and #136920. No intersecting window lines. Unfortunately it doesn't show the front to see if the gap is there... Image Unavailable, Please Login
