Anyone know where the car is tonight? And Is Josh paying his CC bills? Was the car insured (not josh says... but really)? Now that the car has been impounded, is it safe to assume it's registration status and insurance status will be looked into?
Perhaps - however I am not. The question was "where did Roy state that he told Josh" - and again, there is no post to that effect. And you are reading something else beyond what was posted. Fact is that Roy did not state in a post to this thread that he told Josh. -mick
Neither of us were mistaken. NoDoubt has been spinning things up a couple places in this thread trying to find ways to focus more blame on Roy in this matter. For some people, the idea that Roy did nothing wrong in the whole situation is annoying to them, and as such they have to spin, twist, or flat out make sh*t up that Roy did/didn't do/said/shoulda done for their own comfort.
It's perfectly clear that you are confusing their Title Guard name-brand policy insurance with their separate Buy Back guarantee. You clearly don't grasp that they have two different coverages.
This is not good Roy. I am going to need the pedigree on the blue 2007 LP640 before you get funded? How many cases of this type do you get every month? Why would you sell the kid a stolen car? I just dont get it. The guy that called me told me you were sitting in jail and that is why Kevin is dealing with me. Which Big House are you sitting at?
LOL I am right here at home..call me direct if you wish 425-353-2287 Ext #3 I would like to know WHO called you and told you this BS...I have NEVER sold a STOLEN CAR...I am not going to go through all this again!
I want to know just how big Roy's house is that you have to dial an extension for him when you call it! If I try other extensions will I get an ELF picking up?
LOL Yes, that ext # would be #69 !! Ext 3 from my business line goes direct to my cell where ever I am, that way people can get in touch with me 24/7 not just business hours..I try to be available as much as possible for my customers...and of course the ELFS
The extension # to the ELF housing unit is a closely guarded secret. The only one that knows it is Roy and Kevin. The extension number is kept in a safe which has two locks. Each lock has one key. Roy has one key and Kevin has the other. The keys have to be turned simutaniously.
The issue of the buyer using 9 credit cards is clouding the real issue for most of us and that is how are we protected if we buy a car that at the time of sale seems to have a clear title but turns out to be stolen or have a lien on it. Suppose the buyer did everything right and insured the car and went to title the car the day after buying it? What if the new buyer got nailed with a stolen report after he got new tags or if at the time of registration it was found the car was stolen? Would the seller have to pay you back? What kind of insurance policy would they need to have to make you feel comfortable that if a title issue comes up after the sale they'd be able to pay you back?
You do your PPI. You run your Autocheck search. You buy the car. You buy the Autocheck Title Guard "title insurance" policy. You register the car the next day. You pay the sales taxes. You pay for the license plate (tag). If the car comes up with a dented title after that, most state laws make the Seller refund all of your money in exchange for the car back. It's then the Seller's problem. Laws vary by state. If you don't get a full refund, then your title insurance policy kicks in (some have a $60k limit, however). If you are still out money after all of the above, then you are going to have to go to court. Good luck.
Most states draw and quarter a Dealer over such a situation. Not just death, but death by torture. ...but that's not what happened here. What you describe above is a Buyer following the rules (i.e. trying to register the vehcile with her state's DMV). Well, you follow the rules and the System pretty well protects you. When you **scam** the System, however, the System can't really be expected to line your path with flower petals. So trying to get out of paying sales taxes, registration fee, and license tag expenses means that you are throwing away all of the System's protections for you. Keeping that car title "underground" might sound like a great idea if you are a stoned kid two steps from jail and light years from college, but not many rational adults would take that route.
Roy, Made alot of calls to friends around the country who are car collectors and are in the business and have heard nothing but positive things about you. This is the price you pay for being in the retail business. You can`t make everyone happy but the comments I have heard about you is more than positive. I am the idiot for listening to an anonymous tipster who is out for my best interest that you are a specialist who deals in stolen autos. It is so far fetched that I thought someone was playing a joke. I assume it is a competitor that does not have the BALLS to come out in the open and need to hide behind the computer. Anyways, looking forward to do our first business transaction with you. FYI and the readers, I am trading a CGT and possibly two other cars for the LP Roadster and casn back to me. The reasons behind this is because I have more cars than garage space and need to consolidate. I am getting floods of pms from people thinking that Roy is buying my CGT for $200-$300K and that is not the case. I could also use the tax credits on the trades.
Thank you, that is exactly how I get the tax credits since I already paid sales tax on the Carrera GT, 360 Spider, and the Testarossa, I can roll the taxes I paid into the new vehicle. In this particular case I will have sales tax credit left so since I just purchased an F50 I need to discuss with Roy Cats how I can apply the excess to the F50.
Thanks. State sales tax credits. That explains it. When I first saw your comment I thought you had a federal tax credit angle. My mistake.
Sounds like you have quite a nice stable of vehicles, how about sharing some pics with the rest of us ps-esp the F50
I am a computer illiterate and do not know how to post but would gladly email it to you and you can post them if you like.
BTW the obvious reason that we know that Josh did not find out about that out of state lawyer all by himself, is that when his car was snatched out from under him by the police, he didn't know where or how to find ANY lawyer to help him. He came on this forum asking people what time to set his alarm clock for to call a lawyer. He couldn't find a lawyer if one ran him over in an ambulance. With all we've seen from Josh it's obvious that in no way, shape, or form was he of competence to go find some out of state attorney in Montana to specialize in registering a vehicle in Montana for the purpose of saving sales tax. Puhlease.... Josh couldn't find Montana on the map, never mind figure out how to get a lawyer there.... In all fairness who knows if Roy actually told him to do it or just agreed that he'd heard of the guy, but Josh strikes me as the kind of person that simply couldn't put that one together without someone guiding him into it, like the doggie you're trying to get go through the tube at the obstacle course and it keeps trying to climb over the tube, and you've got to put it's head inside and push its butt straight through to the other side. As an update I don't know for sure, but I would say the car is long gone and both Josh and Roy will never see it again. Had it been re-titled at the time of its abduction maybe they'd have a shot, but now, I'd say no way. Everyone will have to follow the money chain backwards, or, someone's insurance will be paying out, etc.
