They've finally unveiled the hole in the nose that we were talking about before the season started. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Several teams were running slicks without any other 2009 regs. http://www.f1today.nl/fotos/8j2wb9iy5.jpg Proper race tires.
Sounds like a great idea. Too many variables in this test to put the 2 second advantage on it. Interesting to see that the miles run on slicks don't count towards team's testing allotment. This makes it a great time to test new parts that don't have a great dependence on the tires (aero, cooling). We all now what will be running on the other teams fluid dynamics simulations tonight. If it really is a big improvement it will be interesting to see who can "adapt" it first, how long it will take them, and how effective it will be on other cars.
Here's a picture of Ron Dennis, about to unveil his new nose as soon as he heard about Ferrari's new nose... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Shows again how evil MCL are... they copied and immediately improved it... Dennis' nose will have TWO holes!!
Ferrari Press bulletin. Maranello, 14th April Circuit: Catalunya Circuit - 4.655 km Driver: Felipe Massa Car: F2008 Weather: air temperature 15/23 °C, track temperature 15/25 °C. Slightly cloudy, a few drops of rain. After a break of around a month, covering the period of the first three races of the Championship, testing resumed for the Formula 1 teams, with almost everyone running as from today at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona. As per the regulations, only one car can be used for tests held during the race season: on track for Ferrari was Felipe Massa. The day's technical programme included testing of new aerodynamic components and work on finding the best set-up for the F2008 on this track, which on 27th April will host the Spanish Grand Prix. In the afternoon, Felipe also did some laps using the 2009 type of Bridgestone tyre. The day in figures is as follows: 77 laps completed by Felipe, with a best time of 1.18.613 set on 2009 tyres and 1.22.007 using this year's rubber. Testing at this circuit continues tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa on track. Thnx YellowB RS! Are you giong to every event? How do you get those pictures every time. I'm impressed
LOL... I was almost going to post a Photoshop'd nose job... but then, I found this picture, unaltered, and it's even better, because it leaves the "new nose" to your imagination... p.s. doesn't every nose already have TWO holes?
A little tidbit for you guys... Since they're testing on slick tires, it doesn't count against the agreed testing mileage allotment.
Not the one on the Ferrari. Again a proof for Dennis' sinister schemes, he did not only use the design for his own team, he is also guilty of giving the technology to obviously EVERYONE...
Even better, of course, coming from you!! Actually, I read the aerodynamic explanation is all BS, its designed to cool the drivers's feet, that's all.
