2009 can not get here fast enough...WTF is going on? All these stupid rabbit ears, extended airbox covers etc.have got to go. The designers are completely out of control.
Look at Alonso's Renault from today below. If Ferrari does this I will completely lose my mind....
    Done venting.

Everyone is so aerodynamic minded that the days of a nice looking F1 car are long gone.

With Mild Seven gone, they need more ad space for several smaller companies...I guess. :D

The colors don't make it any prettier, I liked the Mild Seven colors much more.

I think the twin-keel Williams of a few years ago, with its walrus-tusk front-wing mounting, was pretty ugly. And way back in '73, Ferrari's own unloved Spazzaneve was no sight for sore eyes.

Actually I thought the Ferrari 310 that MS drove in his first year at the scuderia was hideous with those sidepods.

I actually like the 1996 car...until...the dreaded, ugly as sin shark nose appeared. I almost puked on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve track when I saw that car.

But, in all seriousness, back to the abortion from Enstone that is today's Renault.....
It looks like a modern F1 car and a ricemobile had a love child.

Looks like they are just randomly bolting on parts to the car, if it had any substantial benefit to aerodynamics it would be on the Ferrari and McLaren already.

I hate saying this but without paint, most of them would look all the same to me.

I think the Aerodynamicists main job is to ensure he has a job.
Thus we get the "Kings new clothes" school of aero design; You have to be really cool to get it.

If the car wins, I do not care what it looks like.

This is one of those designs that were drawn on a cocktail napkin at 2 AM but no-one had the guts later to back down.

Its clear that Renault took the shark fin crap from Red Bull because they are providing them with engines.
