    Oh yeah, only time I ever bled while shooting a gun was a Desert Eagle .50 A guy brought one to the range and let me fire a round. It launched straight back and tagged me dead center in the forehead right between the eyes. Not that I noticed, I was in an indoor range and the concussion from the thing almost made me wet my pants.

    My shooting buddy later bought one but determined after a month is was useless. Can't carry it. Too big to fit in a normal sized nightstand. He called it his mini-Benelli. Figured that as a home defense weapon, even if he missed his target as long as he had fired in the correct general direction the concussion would either stun his intruders or knock them out. He sold it - replaced it with an Armalite AR-50 which we have both found to be SIGNIFICANTLY more fun.

    Ya, there are tons of videos on YouTube of people that have had the gun fly out of their hand, or into their forehead. It's a STRONG gun!!

    And yes, I see all my mistakes. Bad mistakes too. I have learned since then. haha. (not from a bad experience though).

    I like it, I've never shot anything other than this one so I have nothing to compare it with.

    Haha, ya. It weighs 4.5 lbs. I weigh 95. haha. Not the best ratio for a gun and a girl. haha. I love it though.

    Stephanie,

    The DE is quite a handful, but there are a couple of tips that could help you out. It appears that you're not putting your weight forward in the first picture. As a result, you get rocked back more when you fire the gun. Square your shoulders and take the arch out of your back. Stay balanced, but put the weight on the front of your feet so that your body can absorb more of the recoil without knocking you back so badly. I also noticed that your left hand came off the gun in the second picture. I'm not sure what kind of grip you're using, but I like to push forward with my strong (right) hand and pull back with my weak (left) hand. I also keep a slight bend in my elbows to help absorb recoil.

    Ya, I have learned all that since this time. Keep in mind. When I shot this gun, that was my first time going shooting...EVER. And the picture was my first time shooting the DE. The video was my second time shooting the DE.

    Ya, after shooting that day, and studying the pics and videos, I have learned to lean forward more. It's just hard because naturally I have an arch in my back (ballet does that to you), so getting used to getting rid of the arch took a while, but I got it now! :)

    That's great! As you have found, studying pictures and videos of your technique helps to point out areas that you can improve upon. I'm glad that you're enjoying the shooting sports.

    And my dad taught me all about the Weaver Isosceles. :) That's what helped me make sure the gun didn't hit me in the face! :D

    6 lug hand crank. fires 8mm, .308 or 30-06 . i can run a 250 round belt in 20 seconds. i avoid doing this as it is hard on barrels.

    i only shoot on private property.

    landowner had some old cars there he was going to haul off. he asked me if we could shoot at them.

    we cut them in half ... :)

    ammo is getting expensive, so its not been fired in a few months.

    no, and no.

    1967 Ruger .22 semi auto silenced. 2 Ruger 10/22's heavily modded and silenced. savage .22 bolt action silenced.

    i have never liked Lugers for some reason and will not own one.

    I've looked at the SBEII as well. Both are really nice and comfortable. A guy I duck hunt with has the Xtrema II and let me take down a couple ducks with it last year and I really liked it. Right now I'm shooting a Franchi 912 which is a Benelli driven/owned gun. I think I just want something different this go around. Although, my Franchi is a great gun and I dont NEED a new one, it'd be nice to get into something newer and a better fit to me. Both are lighter and swing better than my current blind gun.
